Julia Roberts to make a comeback (Go To Top)

London: "Pretty Woman" star Julia Roberts is soon going to make her big screen comeback as a mother with an autistic son, and the film's story will be based on Cammie McGovern's new book Eye Contact. Julia has already bought the film rights to Cammie's novel, and the writer is convinced that the 38 year old will do full justice to the lead role. According to Cammie, whose own autistic child Ethan is inspiration for the book, it will be Julia's next project after she finishes her debut Broadway stage run in Three Days Of Rain. "I think Eye Contact will be Julia's next project after she's done the play," The Sun quoted Cammie, saying. "I hear people say whenever she takes a part she's just looking for her next Oscar but I think she'd do great justice to the lead role. It's a single mum who doesn't have a boyfriend so if you can suspend your disbelief that someone as stunning as Julia doesn't have much luck with men it'll work," she added. Julia, who bagged the 2001 Best Actress Oscar for Erin Brockovich, last appeared on the big-screen in Ocean's Twelve two years ago, after which she took time out to have twins Hazel and Phinnaeus with husband Danny Moder.

Cleopatra wants Christian Slater to play her lover (Go To Top)

Washington: "One Flew Over The Cockoo's Nest" star Frances Barber is despearte to co-star with Christian Slater again, and this time she wishes the young actor to play her beloved at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Barber, who will play Cleopatra in William Shakespeare's Antony And Cleopatra, wants Slater to take to the London stage as Roman soldier Mark Antony. And, although she admits Slater is too young to play the Egyptian queen's beloved, she is keen to perform with him again. "I'm going to do Cleopatra at the Globe Theatre. We haven't got an Antony yet but I'd love Christian, who is just simply fantastic. I've just been speaking to him about it. He seemed really interested so I'm going to ring the director tomorrow," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. "I've told Christian he's too young for the role really but he said, 'Hey, I can age up!'" she added. The actress also admits of having an age issue, and says it took Sir Ian McLellen to persuade her to grab the role while she still could. "We were working together on the panto Aladdin and he said, 'You've got to do Cleopatra now or else you'll be too old to play her. It's your last chance!'" she said.

Daniel Craig terrified of losing his family jewels (Go To Top)

Washington: Daniel Craig is dreading shooting a nasty torture scene which involves his manhood being maimed mercilessly by his enemies. Craig is so aghast about the scene, that he persuaded Casino Royal director Martin Campbell to schedule the shooting of the scene for the last day of filming. The movie bosses are very confident that the hair-raising scenes will set a new precedent in the 007 movies "I'm trying not to think about it. It's going to be the last day of shooting. The scene should feel tough," ContactMusic quoted Craig as saying. "The ball-busting scene is going to be scarier than anything he has ever faced before - including sharks. He will be naked and some of the shots are very horrific," Campbell added.

New Bond is an 'animal' in bed  (Go To Top)

Washington: New Bond girl Caterina Murino enjoyed her sex scene with the new 007 Daniel Craig so much, that she wanted more racy sequences in the film. Italian Murino, who plays sexy Solange in the upcoming Casino Royale, loved her on-screen romp with blonde Craig. "Our characters seduce each other and we are like animals. The sex scene is a bit strange but we looked at each other and we said, 'Let's do it," she was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying. "Unfortunately, it was very short. It was only one night," she added.

Is it Clooney who dumped Teri Hatcher? (Go To Top)

New York: Rumours are abuzz that the mystery man who was behind 'Desperate Housewives' Teri Hatcher's, admission about her childhood molestation trauma, is none other than George Clooney. The Vanity Fair cover story on the "Desperate Housewives" diva says Hatcher's jaw-dropping disclosure to the magazine - that she was sexually molested by her uncle as a child was triggered by a recent romantic debacle with a Hollywood hunk referred to in the article only as "Mystery Man." Four years ago, after learning that a teenager with a similar complaint against her uncle had killed herself, Hatcher feared he would escape prosecution and went to cops with her story. That prompted him to plead guilty. But Hatcher never had to testify in court, and her abuse remained secret until she revealed it to Vanity Fair. The magazine reports the unidentified star who dumped Hatcher left her so emotionally shattered that she could no longer keep from talking about her evil uncle. "Mystery Man" was none other than Clooney, a well-placed source was quoted by New York Post, as saying. He dated Hatcher briefly beginning in January, when we first reported they'd gotten cozy, but he dropped her soon after. "The debacle with Mystery Man . . . made the parallels between her romantic failures and the legacy of her sexual abuse seem too obvious to ignore," Vanity Fair's Leslie Bennetts writes.

'Posh and Becks on Rocks' case settled (Go To Top)

Washington: David Beckham and his wife, Victoria, have settled their defamation case against British tabloid 'News of the World' that claimed the couple's marriage was a sham. The superstar duo have reached an out of court settlement, and received undisclosed damages from newspaper over an article that carried the headline: "Posh and Becks on the Rocks." "The defamation proceedings brought by David and Victoria Beckham against the News of the World have been resolved on a confidential basis," E!Online quoted the couple's spokeswoman Jo Milloy, as saying in a statement. Lawyers of the couple took the tabloid to task in October last year for alleging their clients' marriage was a "cynical and hypocritical" lie and that they were pretending to be happily married for the purpose of financial gain. The article further claimed that the couple engaged in a series of knock-down fights, and also alleged that while Victoria publicly presented herself as a loyal wife, in private she was reportedly insulting and disloyal to her heartthrob husband. But, while the Beckhams vehemently denied the allegations, News of the World publisher Richard Spearman stood by the claims--that the story was true.

Keanu Reeves still carries his Matrix scars (Go To Top)

Washington: Hollywood hunk Keanu Reeves is still nursing aches and pains from the first of The Matrix movies in 1999 because he insisted on doing much of his own stunt work. The actor accepts his knees will never be the same after they were beaten and bashed during kung-fu scenes, but some of his co- stars had it even worse. "People broke things. Carrie-Anne-Moss hurt her leg, and Hugo Weaving had to have a hole drilled into his hip to drain some fluid," he was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying "I was taking ice baths and massages and trying not to cry at night. I'm still kind of tired from it, though. I'm still recovering. "My stunt double told me I did more wire work than 90 per cent of the stuntmen in the business," he added.
