      Sydney: Harry Potter author JK Rowling has been named the greatest living British author cruising ahead of bigwigs like Salman Rushdie and playwright Harold Pinter. A poll by The Book Magazine collected three times as many votes for Rowling than the second-placed name on the list, fantasy writer Terry Pratchett. Booker Prize winners Ian McEwan, Rushdie, who penned the 1988 book The Satanic Verses and Midnight's Children came next.

Lohan's loss is Alba's gain (Go To Top)

       Washington: Lindsay Lohan has walked out from the indie comedy "Bill," but directors Bernie Goldmann and Melisa Wallack it seems aren't deeply mourning over the loss, as they've turned around and hired Jessica Alba. The teen actress bid goodbye to the role saying she didn't want to work with first time directors, but only with the big-name ones. According to Contactmusic, the movie, which will start shooting soon, is about a man fed up with his job who finds his wife in bed with a local news anchor. He regains a lost sense of self by mentoring an unruly teen and finds inspiration in an intriguing young saleswoman. Meanwhile, Lohan has already started working on her next project, 'Georgia Rule', starring Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman.

Beyonce tops Hottest Stars Under 25 poll (Go To Top)

        Washington: Singer Beyonce Knowles has been voted as the Hottest Star Under 25, in a hip new poll conducted by US rock magazine Spin. The former Destiny's Child star beat out competition from basketball star Lebron James, Kelly Clarkson and Kisten Dunst to claim the top spot. Others to make into the top ten included Keira Knightley, Christina Milian, Mischa Barton and Alex Turner, reports Ratethemusic.

Jackman to star opposite Kidman in Oz (Go To Top)

          Sydney: Hollywood hunk Hugh Jackman has replaced Russell Crowe in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming period epic drama, which also stars Nicole Kidman. The actor was chosen over Crowe, who was pushed from the project last week after dallying on script consultation. Jackman will play a cattle driver hooking up with an English aristocrat (Kidman) whose northern Australian ranch, which she inherits unexpectedly, is threatened by British cattle barons. They undertake a cattle drive across the Top End. "This is a hugely ambitious marriage between Fox, the director and the principal actors," Luhrmann, speaking of Crowe's early exit, said. "As we tried to bring the budget to the right place and arrange shooting in the capricious weather in northern Australia, it was necessary that the studio and the actor come to a resolution. They got close but when it came to a point where it was not resolved, the No.1 thing to do was set an actor in that role," he added. Jackman was being considered for the third lead role until Crowe fell out, he was the obvious replacement as he had no filming commitments after his Australian stadium tour of The Boy From Oz later this year and four films released in 2006.

       Washington: Britney Spears' male nanny whom the singer recently hired to take care of her eight months old son Sean Preston, is Perry Taylor, a former lacrosse coach at Beverly Hills High School. Spears who recruited 28-year-old Taylor to helps her with her son, serves more as a bodyguard for the little one rather than doing the typical nanny errands. "He's more Sean's bodyguard than a nanny," Ratethemusic quoted a source close to Taylor, as saying. "My son is more suited to security duty rather than nappy changing: He's just beginning to learn about babies," Taylor's mother Caroline added Meanwhile, her new employee hasn't left her side for the past few weeks and has frequently been photographed helping the 24-year- old with her young son.

       Washington: Sexy actress Scarlett Johanson has the Best Cleavage in Hollywood, says a poll conducted by In Touch magazine. According to the publication's spokesperson, Johansson's "irresistible assets" got more noticed when at this year's Golden Globes designer Issac Mizrahi's wandering hands couldn't control themselves from reaching out to touch the actress' beautiful chests. "It's not unusual for Scarlett Johansson to receive loads of compliments on her ample chest but the level of appreciation reached a new high at this year's Golden Globes when fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi couldn't help but reach out and touch the 21-year-old's assets during a red-carpet interview," Contactmusic quoted Magazine spokeswoman Lindsay Loderstedt, as saying. "Britney has heard that Federline is working on a script and trying to get funding for the film," a source was quoted by The Sun, as saying. She is really upset. Britney fears Kevin just wants to promote himself at her expense to further his career." The couple have grown increasingly distant, but Britney is desperate to save the marriage before their second child arrives in the autumn.
