Becks stunned by kidnap stunt (Go To Top)

     London: Real Madrid ace David Beckham was recently taken on a bizarre car ride through Manchester's notorious Moss side area, a ride that convinced him that he was being kidnapped for ransom. The incident eventually turned out to be a prank played by fellow England player Rio Ferdinand, reports The Sun. So scared was Becks by the alleged carjack that he waited until the vehicle stopped at traffic lights before opening the door and sprinting away. He was, however, stopped by his former Man United team-mate, who explained that it was just a stunt. A stunned Becks then burst out laughing when he realised he was the latest scalp for the defender's new ITV show, Rio Ferdinand's World Cup Wind-Ups. Last night, a spokesman for the football star said: "It was all Rio's planning and David found it very amusing." The show is Rio's first with his firm Next Generation TV and Film, run with entertainment agent Chris Nathaniel of NVA Management. It will be aired after England's World Cup opener against Paraguay on June 10.

James Bond's big guns (Go To Top)

      London: James Bond actor Daniel Craig who was recently ordered to lose weight, will be sporting weapons five times the size of the famous Walther PPKs carried by previous 007s. The mega sub-machine gun, complete with silencer, was on display as Daniel, 37, recreated the famous Bond pose while filming and shooting in Italy. This heavy hardware is an fine indicator of the kind of action expected from the movie. However, in real life hunk Daniel- who played a gangster in hit flick Layer Cake does not like firearms at all. "I hate handguns. As long as they are around, people will shoot each other," the Mirror quoted him as saying.

When Liz shared Jackson's bed (Go To Top)

      Washington: Screen legend Elizabeth Taylor has revealed that she once shared a bed with Michael Jackson and his nephews, but there was "nothing odd about it". The 'Cleopatra' star watched Walt Disney cartoons with Jackson and his young relatives while all were lying in bed. But Taylor insists the singer's love of kids is completely innocent. "I've been there when his young nephews were there and we were all in the bed watching television - there was nothing abnormal about it," she was quoted by Contactmusic, as saying. "There was no touchy-feely going on. We laughed like children and we watched a lot of Walt Disney. There was nothing odd about it," she added.

Kidman can't find her leading man (Go To Top)

       Washington: 'Moulin Rouge' director Baz Luhrmann is stranded without an actor for his forthcoming 150 million dollars untitled film, with both Russell Crowe and 'Brokeback Mountain' star Heath Ledger declining the offer to act in his film. Crowe was set to play Nicole Kidman's lover later this year in the movie set around the Japanese bombing of Darwin, Australia, in 1942. But Crowe demanded of script approval before signing on for the film, which wasn't acceptable to the film-maker. Luhrmann then thought Ledger to be the next best choice and approached him for the role. "Baz liked him and offered him the movie. Then Crowe came back to Luhrmann and said he'd forgo the script approval and wanted to do the film, but they told him it was too late - to buzz off," Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling the New York Post. But Ledger too quit the project for another big banner, high budgeted flick.

Kidman set for night nuptials on June 25 (Go To Top)

      Sydney: Concerned about the press and paparazzi buzzing overhead and ruining their big day, actress Nicole Kidman and singer Keith Urban are reportedly considering a night nuptial mass to keep the eagle-eyed photographers at bay. Wedding planners for the couple have revealed the service would be at 6.30pm on June 25(06) at Mary McKillop Chapel in North Sydney. Sydney Helicopters managing director David Gemmell has also confirmed he got a call on Tuesday(30May) from "a third party" linked to the star couple's wedding. "We did get a call from them. They were concerned about what access the paparazzi could get," Sydney Confidential quoted Gemmell, as telling fashion editor Holly Byrnes. "We haven't been booked by Nicole and Keith. I'm doing something else for them," he added. Civil Aviation Safety Authority spokesman Peter Gibson also admitted that snappers hovering for every lucrative detail will have a tough time covering the ceremony under the cover of night. "It's going to make things difficult for the paparazzi," said Gibson.

Hefner wants Jackman to play him in biopic

      London: Hugh Hefner is planning a movie about his saucy life, and he wants Aussie actor Hugh Jackman to play him. The Playboy boss is desperate to produce a biopic, detailing his rise to the top of the male magazine industry, and he considers Hugh to be the perfect man to play him, after watching the Australian actor in "X-Men: The Last Stand". Meanwhile, while in reel-life whether the two Hughs appear alike is still to be seen, in real life, the two stars are different. While Hefner, 80, lives in the Playboy mansion with three younger girlfriends, family man Jackman, 37, is happily married with two adopted children.

       London: Britney Spears' husband, Kevin Federline it seems is least bothered about what the 'Toxic' singer has to say about their divorce, for he feels that she just doesn't have the guts to leave him and that she will soon come back crawling to him. "She doesn't have the guts to leave me; she's been threatening to divorce me since the honeymoon," the Mirror quoted him, as telling his close pals. The couple who have an 8 month-old son Sean Preston, have drifted apart after a series of furious rows. Spears despaired of the ex-dancer's wild lifestyle, as well as the lack of time he devotes to their son.

       London: While other stars spend hours in the gym toning their bodies, Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has sex every day for 30 minutes to keep in shape. The 'Ray' star has claimed that daily love making is the best way to stay slim. "We should all do something for 30 minutes every day to get the heart pumping. I make love to stay in shape," Femalefirst quoted him, as saying. Foxx further reveals that a beautiful girl who makes a good conversation, and has a big butt too is what turns him on. "I love a beautiful girl that I can have a conversation with. And a good ass - big and round," the report quoted him ,as telling New York Daily News newspaper.

Copperfield's to attempt immaculate conception

      Washington: Master magician David Copperfield plans to impregnate a girl onstage without touching her. The famous illusionist has claimed to make the volunteer pregnant, without having sex with her. "There is a great deal of new territory to conquer. I'm going to make a girl pregnant. Naturally there will be no sex," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. "Everybody will be happy about it, but I'm not telling you any more," he added. The stunt will be carried out in Germany.
