Attack on RSS HQ: 3 militants die

       Nagpur: Three armed terrorists were shot dead while trying to enter the high security zone RSS headquarters in Nagpur in the wee hours of today. According to eyewitnesses, a team of police followed their vehicle after the alleged terrorists tried to enter the premises and broke the first barrier about 200 meters from the headquarters. But they started firing, following which the encounter took place. Two police officers were also injured in the encounter and the condition of one police officer was stated to be serious. The encounter took place around 4:00 in the morning. When the militants who were dressed in police uniform came in a white ambassador car and attempted to enter the RSS headquarter. RSS chief KS Sudharshan was not present at the headquarters when the incident happened, a RSS spokesperson said. About the terrorist attack on the headquarters, he added that both police and the RSS had the information regarding this. Police said that the identities of the three were yet to be established. The police also seized three AK-47 rifles, huge quantity of RDX and 12 hand grenades from the militants suspected to be belonging to Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has condemned the incident and appealed for calm and communal peace. Authorities in Nagpur have already sounded red alerts.
