BJP
demands fresh election in Karnataka
Chennai:
BJP Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday demanded
fresh polls in Karnataka. "BJP feels that there is no way
other than going for election in Karnataka. The coalition
experiment in the state has failed. There is open fighting
going on between JD(S) and Congress ," said Naidu Coming
down heavily on the UPA government at the Centre for its
decisions to stop the subsidy on food grains supplied through
the public distribution system and to reduce the EPF interest
rate, he said both were anti-people policies.
"BJP
demands to restore the full quota of 35 kilogram of food
grains per family and withdrawal of hike of the charges
of PDS rice and wheat," said Naidu. The full quota of 35
kg of food grain per family under PDS which was introduced
during the NDA regime was reduced to 10 kg by the UPA government
in Centre. Naidu also criticised the decision of the central
government to reduce the Employees Provident Fund interest
rate to 8.5 percent He also said , the national council
meeting of BJP will be held on January 20 to discuss the
anti-people policies of congress. The BJP had no plans of
alliance with any regional party in Tamilnadu for the forthcoming
elections, he added.
