Kidnapped
child found murdered in Bihar
Patna:
The search for the six-year old child, who was kidnapped
earlier on Saturday, ended tragically with the discovery
of his body in the Barh Sub Division of the state located
at 34 miles south-east of Patna. Senior Superintendent of
Police Kundan Krishnan said that the victim's body was recovered
from a village last night, and have in this connection,
arrested five youth. Further investigations are also on,
he said. "The body of the child, who had gone missing from
his home in Dhamna Village under Barh Police Station on
Saturday night, was recovered from near the village last
night," he said. Six-year-old Kanhaiya Kumar, a son of a
railway contractor, was kidnapped by criminals who later
asked the family to pay a ransom of rupees three lakhs.
They had also threatened to kill the child if the money
was not paid within the prescribed time.
In
another incident, a college student was abducted from Sultanganj
in Patna on Sunday. Acccording to the Police, the victim
was the son of a Begusarai based businessman and was preparing
for engineering admission tests while living in a rental
lodge in Patna. Despite Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's claim
of a crime-free state, the state's crime graph is on the
rise. It has seen a spate of kidnappings over the past few
days. Only five days back, Prashant Jain, a garment shop
owner was abducted and has still not been traced.
