injured in Ahmedabad railway station blast
                         Ahmedabad:
A powerful explosion occurred in the wee hours today
at the Ahmedabad Railway Station injuring fourteen people.
The bomb exploded minutes after a train had passed Kalupur
railway station and injured 14 people, Rakesh Mishra, commandant,
railway protection force, told reporters. "The incident
occurred between 1.40 am and 1.45 am (local time) only a
few minutes after Ranakpur Express passed from a platform.
We have ordered for a thorough check of the train at the
next station. The investigation is on," said Mishra. The
explosion tore open the roof of the platform and shattered
glass on kiosks and offices, he said, adding that several
stalls and structures were damaged in the blast. "I heard
                      a blast 10 minutes after a train passed. I couldn't understand
anything as it was dark and nothing was visible. I injured
my head. I don't know what happened," said Dinesh, an injured.
Following the explosion, arrivals and departures of trains
here were suspended for a few hours before resuming at 4.30
a.m. (IST). A bomb disposal squad, personnel from the forensic
science laboratory and fire brigade were rushed to the site,
                      sources said.

No organisation has claimed the responsibility for the blast
so far. The sources have clarified that the bomb was not
a "crude device", adding that the nature of explosive would
be known only after the blast material was inspected by
the explosive experts. The injured have been shifted to
VS Hospital in Ahmedabad and the condition of one of them
is said to be serious. An alert has been sounded in the
State and the police are maintaining a tight vigil in and
                      around the city.

                         New
Delhi: New Delhi came alive on Saturday for a spectacular
wedding of Manhattan-based millionaire hotelier Vikram Chatwal
with Priya Sachdev. The wedding, due to take place this
evening, is being billed as the most lavish Indian affair
since the 2004 wedding of Mittal's daughter. The marriage
ceremonies, extended over four days, are being attended
by the who's who from across the globe, including billionaire
steel tycoon Laxmi Mittal, former US President Bill Clinton
and his wife senator Hillary Clinton. The Chatwal extravaganza
is being spread over three cities and private jets are reportedly
transporting guests. Sant Singh Chatwal, the groom's father,
said he wanted to host a traditional Indian marriage to
his foreign guests. "Most of these people have never seen
traditional Indian marriage, and they have come from abroad.
I really want to show them India. I want them to be a part
of it. Because in India, marriage is a very big thing compared
to other parts of the world," he said. Michelle Alves, a
guest from New York, said that she was extremely excited
to be a part of the marriage. "I am so excited. This is
my first day in India. I know Vikram for a long time from
New York, that's where I live. I am so excited to see everything.
I always expected to be here one day," she said. Chatwals

                         Karachi:
India today thrashed Pakistan by eight wickets at the
National Stadium here to win the fifth and final match of
the Indo-Pak cricket series by a convincing 4-1 margin,
with 19 balls remaining to be bowled. Yuvraj Singh's scintillating
century and Mahendra Singh Dhoni's blitzkrieg fifty plus
made the Herculean task of 286 posted by Pakistan, a proverbial
cakewalk. Indian skipper, Rahul Dravid too slammed his 68th
ODI fifty before he joined Gautam Gambhir in the dressing
room. The duo shared a 69 runs partnership. Though the Indian
team missed master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and pace bowler
Irfan Pathan, the 11 member team made sure that India did
not falter when it came to winning the last match in style.

Earlier, in the day Indian pacer S Sreesanth took three
wickets in 12 balls putting Pakistan on the backfoot, leaving
them tottering at 115 for four at the end of 22 overs. However,
the trusted pair of Mohammed Yousuf and Younis Khan steadied
the Pakistani innings with their brilliant half centuries.
Yousuf hit 67 off 85 balls with 6 fours and vice captain
Younis made 74 not out in 79 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes
to put up a partnership of 95 runs in 110 balls. The hosts
added 76 runs in the last ten overs with Zaheer`s last over
costing 18 runs as Pakistan made ample amends for the early
lapses. However, the day belonged to Yuvraj Singh, who scored
a brilliant 107 not out wining the Man of the Match and
the Man of the Series. Teams: India: Gautam Gambhir, Rahul
Dravid (captain), Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Kaif, Suresh Raina,
