The name's Bond, bruised Bond!  (Go To Top)

Washington: New Bond Daniel Craig insists that he tries to do most of the stunts without using a body double; as he feels that the more actual footage of him there is in the films, makes the film more real for fans. And if that means getting bruised along the way, that is absolutely acceptable to him. The British actor who has been under attack from the James Bond fans, desperately wants to prove to the fans that he fits the role perfectly. "I try to do as much stuff as I can. The stunt team is phenomenal; they're putting their all into this. "And what we'll be doing, which is gonna be so exciting, is that there's not gonna be any painting-in here. What you see is the real thing," Contactmusic quoted Craig as telling Empire magazine. "But despite those limitations, I want to do as much as I can, because if I can get my face on camera as much as possible, then people are really gonna believe it's me. You know the process. It's impossible for me to take too many risks - insurance companies wouldn't let me. I'm just pushing the envelope. The truth is, if you don't get bruised when you're doing Bond, you're not doing it properly. That really is it," he added. Meanwhile the 38-year-old actor has agreed to reprise his role as the suave spy in two new James Bond films, but is being paid far less than his predecessor Pierce Brosnan. Craig is will not receive more than 9 million pounds for all the three movies. Brosnan reportedly lost the role when he demanded 22 million pounds to appear in 'Casino Royale'.

'Ocean's 13' to be last in series (Go To Top)

Melbourne: Director Steven Soderbergh has reportedly confirmed in an interview at the Edinburgh Film Festival that "Ocean's 13" would be the last film in the Ocean's series. The film-maker is currently working on the new movie, which stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon, but insists he has no intention of coming back for a fourth movie. 'Ocean's Eleven' made over 450 million dollars worldwide, while it's sequel, Ocean's 12 made almost 100 million dollar less and cost more than 30 million dollars more to produce. Soderbergh says that Clooney essentially only wanted to make this one because he thought, "Ocean's Twelve" was too complicated, and the series needed to return to its comedy roots, reports Moviehole. And all Soderbergh revealed about Al Pacino's character in the film; that of a casino owner, was that he was a "monster". The announcement comes just days after the film's producer, Jerry Weintraub, told the media that, he wanted the whole cast to return for 'Ocean's Fourteen'.

Madonna escapes being 'crucified'  (Go To Top)

Washington: Popstar Madonna has escaped prosecution over her controversial mock crucifixion at a concert in Germany on Sunday as the authorities have decided not to open an official investigation into the stunt. Prosecutors' spokesman Johannes Mocken said that while the scene "might be hurtful to religious people," there was no indication of a criminal offence. He said, the routine, which includes Madonna strapped to an elevated mirrored cross while donning a crown of thorns and crooning her 1986 song "Live To Tell," was covered by laws protecting artistic freedom. Reports had claimed that Madonna could face arrest if she chose to go ahead with the controversial sequence during the German show, which she performed in front of 45,000 people. The singer, herself a lapsed Catholic, has insisted that the routine is part of her appeal to audiences to donate money to AIDS charities. Madonna continues her tour in Russia this week, where religious leaders have already taken the liberty of denouncing her show, reports Eonline!

Washington: Janet Jackson's beau Jermaine Dupri has been so successful in helping her overcome her shyness that she now even enjoys stripping for him. The normally super-shy song bird revealed that Dupri has managed to open a whole new world to her as far as the bedroom is concerned. "I love it (stripping) because I know he loves it. I'm way more open, and I know that probably sounds crazy. But he's taken me places I haven't been before," Contactmusic quoted her, as telling Vibe magazine. And, it's not only stripping that the singer is open to nowadays, but also sex toys and tapes. When asked by Vibe's Craig Seymour whether she would be okay with making sex videotapes with her beau, Jackson replied in the affirmative. "Would you say you are a toys couple, a making movies couple, or an all out in public couple?" Seymour asked Jackson replied, "All of the above."

Did Doherty miss his own wedding? (Go To Top)

New York: How could there be a marriage when the groom is missing? Well! this is exactly what happened when supermodel Kate Moss reportedly flew 14 close friends, including her brother Nick, to a resort in Bali last week(18Aug06), causing widespread speculation that the pair was planning to tie the knot. But, to everyone's disappointment, the biggest being for the couple themselves, the alleged ceremony couldn't take place as Doherty was detained in London when a judge ruled that he must attend rehab to make bail for cocaine and heroin charges. Doherty pled guilty on Friday, and will be confined to London's Priory Clinic each night until sentencing. Sources say Moss and her lawyers' efforts to help the Babyshambles' lead singer make it to Indonesia, have all been in vain. "She is in a terrible state. When she flew to Bali, she was ecstatic and told friends there was going to be a ceremony," the New York Daily News quoted a source, as telling Britain's Daily Express.

Shyamalan won't do a Woody Allen (Go To Top)

London: Director M. Night Shyamalan has revealed that he does not want to be like Woody Allen and star in all his own movies. The filmmaker is famous, like legendary director Allen, for making appearances in his movies. In his latest project, 'Lady in the Water', Shyamalan has a leading role playing the character Vick. However, he insists he isn't a frustrated actor who needs to escape from behind the camera. "I have no interest in being the next Woody Allen but it felt right to be in this movie. Maybe its naove, but I tend to treat films like little independent movies by doing what I like," he was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. In his last film, 'The Village', Shyamalan had a cameo as a security guard, while in 'Signs' he played Ray Reddy alongside Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix.

France to re-open Diana's death probe

London: The French legal authorities have decided to re-open their investigation into the death of Princess Diana, because of discrepancies in tests that showed Henri Paul, her chauffeur, was drunk. Previous examinations of samples taken from Paul have always suggested that his blood alcohol level was three times over the drink drive limit, when the Mercedes he was driving smashed into a Paris underpass - killing him, Diana and her lover Dodi Fayed. However, there have always been doubts about the French laboratory team mishandling the blood tests. And the recent claims by the manager of the London mortuary that the princess was not pregnant when she died have raised further suspicion over the cause of her death. This has now been partially supported by former Scotland Yard chief Lord Stevens, who has been reinvestigating the crash in advance of an inquest. Even Dodi's father Mohammed al-Fayed has repeatedly claimed that the blood samples were switched to make Paul appear drunk. He still suspects that Diana and his son were murdered on orders from British royal family because she was pregnant with Dodi Fayed's child. The French director of public prosecutions has, therefore, authorised a judge to probe the evidence of two forensics experts who tested Paul's blood. The idea is to lay conspiracy theories to rest, prompted by missing and sloppy paperwork. "We are providing all assistance to the British inquiry into Princess Diana's death," said a spokesman for the criminal investigation department for the Paris police. A lawyer who has been involved in the case since 1997 told the Daily Mail, "It is clearly a cause for concern that the alternative theories as to the cause of the accident have never been examined properly." "Conclusions may have been based on false evidence, which is a scandal. People have been arguing this for years but have been ignored. Now it appears that we must rely on English investigators to make up for initial mistakes," the lawyer added.

Washington: Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher has quashed reports claiming he began dating Demi Moore as a publicity stunt, insisting the two immediately had amazing chemistry. The couple began seeing each other when Kutcher was 25 and Moore was 40, giving birth to rumours that their romance was a stunt for Kutcher's prank show Punk'd. But rubbishing all claims, the actor-producer has told American magazine Parade that they had an immediate connection. "I could totally be comfortable on my first date with Demi. It was just there," Contactmusic quoted him, as telling the publication. "We waited to get married until we felt like we were already married," he added. Kutcher has also claimed that one of the key's to the couple's successful marriage is that they refuse to argue with each other. Married less than a year to Moore, he revealed they "had one argument in the first three months of dating and since then we haven't had any.We have frustrations, like every relationship. It's just the way we deal with them. We deal with issues before they become arguments." The relationship has "the same energy as before, but more depth," he added.
