JK Rowling to 'mourn' for Harry Potter (Go To Top)

London: Fans of Harry Potter will not be the only ones missing the boy wizard, for creator JK Rowling insists that she will also be going into 'mourning' after the seventh and final book is complete. Speaking to people in the Big Apple, Rowling said that she would miss having Harry and his friends in her life after she finishes the as yet un-named novel, and added that she would definitely be going through a 'mourning' when she has to think of something or someone else to write about. "I will go through a mourning period, then I will have to think of something else to write," the BBC quoted her, as saying. Rowling, who kills two characters in the novel, told the New York audience that she was certainly not looking forward to their deaths. The task was easier however, for she insists that she has already done her 'grieving'. "I didn't enjoy killing the character at the end of book six. But I had been planning that for years, so it wasn't quite as poignant as you'd imagine. I'd already done my grieving when I actually came to write it," she added.

Jolie bans male waiters (Go To Top)

New York: Angelina Jolie has only one request when it comes to eating out at a fancy restaurant - no male waiters. The 'Mr and Mrs Smith' star recently visited the Dakota restaurant at the Hollywood Roosevelt for a dinner with pals, but requested that there be only female servers at the table. An insider reveals that the reason behind the actress' request is that male waiters tend to 'gawk' at her, and that by asking for a female server, Jolie has found her way around her problem. "The theory is she feels guys gawk at her too much, and this is one way of avoiding that," the New York Post quoted the insider, as saying. Jolie's rep however, refused to comment on the actress' dining demands.

Hanks in talks to make Mamma Mia (Go To Top)

Washington: Oscar winner Tom Hanks may soon give movie-goers a chance to view hit ABBA musical Mamma Mia! on the silverscreen. According to Contactmusic, the actor and executives at his production company, Playtone, have once again initiated talks to turn the musical comedy into a new movie. Hanks first approached global Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer with a view to putting the stageshow on the big screen five years ago, when it first premiered on Broadway, but Craymer wasn't interested. But now, according to the New York Times newspaper, the talks for the movie rights are back on.

Roberts not to return for Ocean's 13 (Go To Top)

Melbourne: Even though rumours have been circulating otherwise, one cast member not returning to the sets of Oceans 13 will be 'Pretty Woman' Julia Roberts. Moviehole.net reiterated the fact that though rumours were rife that Roberts would be joining George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and the other members of the cast for the third sequel, the reports are just not true. The reason however, is not due to any rift between the actors, but because Roberts was caught up in a scheduling problem and didn't have the dates available. Clooney won't be without a leading lady though. A few names, including actress Ellen Barkin, are said to be lined up as Danny Ocean's new love interest.

JLo drops out of Chadha's 'Dallas'

Washington: Jennifer Lopez has dropped out of the big screen remake of the hit 1970s TV series 'Dallas'. The 'Wedding Planner' star was set to act opposite John Travolta in the movie to be directed by 'Bend it like Beckham' director Gurinder Chaddha. Lopez had been cast for the role of Sue Ellen - the alcoholic wife of Travolta's character JR Ewing. Lopez's representative Leslie Sloane Zelnick confirmed that the singer/actress was out of the movie. "She is out of Dallas," Contactmusic quoted Zelnick, as telling Star magazine. Lopez is not the only one to pull out of the movie, for 'Legally Blonde' director Robert Luketic quit the project earlier this year citing "creative differences".

Another sex scandal on Beckham (Go To Top)

London: Former England soccer captain David Beckham's marriage with Victoria might witness a rough patch soon, after a model has threatened to spill the beans about her affair with the soccer star in 1998 on an upcoming ITV reality show. The model has reportedly claimed that Beckham wanted to see her naked and that the duo exchanged raunchy text messages over mobile phones. 'Love Island' star Emma Ryan further claimed that she had a six- week fling with Beckham, when Beckham wanted to see her naked. But, they never slept together, she added. The revelation comes at a time when the Beckhams are thought to be trying for a fourth child. Emma's relationship with Beckham started in a bar in Manchester in August 1998, when he was a rising Manchester United star. At the time, she claimed that he passionately kissed her as they cuddled at a friend's house. "He wanted to see me naked and couldn't wait to play a game of strip Scrabble. Beckham's people tried to make out it was just a brief fling. But the truth is, it was much, much more. Now I'm determined the whole world will know the truth. It was a love affair. We both had very deep feelings for each other," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying in a report in the Daily Star. This would be the second occasion, when Beckhams would be facing troubled times. Earlier, the soccer star's former personal assistant Rebecca Loos made #1million by selling secrets from their alleged affair. She also claimed that the soccer star told her that he fantasised about making love to her. According to the paper, following the revelation, Beckham is said to be extremely worried about the impact the claims will have on his wife. It quoted him as saying that he told Emma that he loved Victoria too much to cheat.
