Chadha to bend it for 'Dallas' (Go To Top)

Washington: It seems that Indian filmmaker Gurinder Chadha might soon be directing Jennifer Lopez and John Travolta, for she is said to be in talks about directing the big screen version of the hit TV show 'Dallas'. According to Zap2it.com, Chadha, who launched British beauty Keira Knightley with 'Bend it like Beckham', is said to be in negotiations with Regency Enterprises and 20th Century Fox after original director Robert Luketic bailed out. Filming for the movie, which is expected to star Jennifer Lopez, Luke Wilson, John Travolta and possibly Shirley MacLaine, will start by Nov. 10.

Mum-in-law for sale for 1 pound (Go To Top)

London: A British man got so fed-up of his mother- in-law's nagging, that he tried to get rid of her by putting her up for sale on eBay in the hopes that someone would take her off his hands. And to add insult to injury, 42-year old Steve Owen, not only posted a photograph of his 50-year old mother-in-law Caroline Allen under the 'Collectables and Weird Stuff', but also invited starting bids for her at the price of 1 pound. And Owen is apparently so desperate, that in the message he's posted on eBay, he's only willing to sell her to a buyer who will take her back to the US. "This is an old mother-in-law and has not been worked on since 1980. Needs WD40 and she will not nag much. Come from the USA. I'd like a man to take her back there. Not bad for the age. Good with pets. Good with food," the Sun quoted him, as stating in the message. And if people think that he's just playing a joke, Owen assures them that he's deadly serious. "I'm deadly serious. She comes to the house every day trying to change me and make me tidy. I just hope someone will take her off my hands. She's single and not bad looking," he said.

Sharon Stone's French connection (Go To Top)

New York: Rumours are abuzz that 'Basic Instinct' star Sharon Stone has found love again, this time in the arms of a married French author. According to a source, Stone, who was previously married to journalist Phil Bronstein, is said to be enamoured by Bernard- Henri Levy, the French author of 'American Vertigo: Traveling in the Steps of Tocqueville'. "They're a perfect match. She likes macho blowhards, and he loves stacked blondes," the New York Post quoted the source, as saying.

JK Rowling runs out of paper (Go To Top)

London: Fans of the 'Harry Potter' series may have to wait a bit longer for the seventh and last instalment, for it seems that author JK Rowling is having a bit of a paper 'shortage'. Rowling, who revealed that she likes to use a pen and paper to draft her novels, rather than use a computer, said that it had taken her 45 minutes to find a pad of paper in a city like Edinburgh, when she ran out of paper to write on. "What is a writer who likes to write longhand supposed to do when she hits her stride and then realises to her horror she has covered every bit of blank paper in her bag? And there's a university here! What do the students use? Don't tell me laptops, it makes me feel like something out of the 18th Century," the BBC quoted her, as stating on her website.

Brangelina for Ocean's 13 (Go To Top)

London: Brad is reportedly trying to persuade lover Angelina Jolie to sign up for the third instalment of Ocean's 13. Brad has been pestering her to sign up for the blockbuster during a romantic African break before Angelina has their first baby together, reports the Sun. Angelina will be replacing beauties Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta Jones, neither of which will be involved in the project this time round. Ocean's 13 makers would be more than happy to have bagged the most talked about couple in tinsel town. Other lead actors confirmed for the comedy crime thriller are Gorgeous George, Matt Damon and Pitt himself. If she agrees to the project, it would be their second film together after Mr & Mrs Smith.
