Great big Greek battle over Paris Hilton (Go To Top)

London: It was an unpleasant scene when Paris Hilton's ex and present boyfriend had a confrontation at the Musicians Rock the Soul party after the American Music Awards. Hilton's former fiance Paris Latsis reportedly had a few words for Stavros Niarchos, whom some suspect hastened the rupture of the Paris-Paris engagement. "Stavros and Paris [Latsis] were yelling at each other near one of the VIP tables," a source was quoted by the Daily Mail, as saying. Another source at the party revealed that shortly afterward, a sick-looking Niarchos dashed into a rest room - but didn't quite make it to a stall. "He puked everywhere, finally he and Paris left the party after she got him out of the bathroom and cleaned him up," he added. However Hilton's rep Elliot Mintz said that Latsis and Niarchos had a pleasant conversation. As for the upchucking, Mintz says, "I was with them all night, and I saw no evidence of that." "Stavros has a friend who looks just like him" - the same doppelgdnger blamed for wrecking a Vegas hotel suite shared by Hilton and Niarchos recently. That could be a handy friend to have," he added.

Jolie traumatized by Pak quake devastation (Go To Top)

Islamabad: Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was apparently traumatized by the devastation caused by the October 8 earthquake when she toured the affected area along with Brad Pitt on a UN Goodwill trip. Jolie, a UN High Commissioner for Refugees goodwill ambassador since 2001, along with Pitt visited Allai and Balakot, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) to express solidarity and sympathies with the quake victims. She also took part in a helicopter airlift of food, blankets and tarpaulins to victims of the quake. Jolie, who came to Pakistan and PoK as a UN guest, and wanted her visit to be a low-key affair, one of the main reasons why journalists and camerapersons were not allowed to accompany the duo on their trip, however, could not maintain her calm after seeing the disaster. She said that while pledges would take care of the long-term rehabilitation purpose, urgent efforts were needed to save the quake victims from the oncoming winters, reports The News. "The pledges that were made need to materialise soon . . . because from what I'm understanding, there are so many wonderful pledges of money that could come in the next few years. But the winter is in the next few weeks. These people there have not been given a lot of aid and we need to do more and sooner," she said. She described the catastrophe as "unimaginable", warning that "another disaster could happen very soon". "Children are so terrorised by the earthquake that they forgot the loss of their home and toys and were pleased to find their family and friends with them. They're very far out and they are very concerned about the winter coming," she said. "You watch TV and you see the pictures, but nobody sitting at home has any idea what this really looks like ... that is just unbelievable. You fly in a helicopter and you see ... house after house ... just rubble ... nothing standing. When you see these people, you realise after talking to them that they are still, understandably, very traumatised, she added.

Sir Anthony Hopkins tipped for 'Best Actor' Oscar (Go To Top)

Washington: Looks like it's award-winning time again for Sir Anthony Hopkins, as soon after being announced as the next recipient of 'the Cecil B DeMille Award', he has won plaudits for his outstanding performance in his latest film, which experts say may win him a nomination in the Oscar's ' Best Actor' award category. The 67-year-old star has reportedly joined the Oscars race after winning standing ovations from reviewers at Hollywood screenings for his new movie 'The World's Fastest Indian'. "They're doing screening after screening after screening all over town," Contactmusic quoted Pete Hammond, who moderates screenings for movie magazine Daily Variety, as telling industry website theenvelope.com. "Hopkins got a major standing ovation at my Variety screening the other day. I'm telling you it's the most enthusiastic response I've seen so far for any performance this Oscar season. Suddenly, he's a major player. Take it from me. Put Hopkins on your best actor list," he added. Hopkins is being tipped for his role as a real-life, 72-year-old record-breaking motorbike racer in the film.

Andy Serkis turns 'real gorilla' for 'King Kong' (Go To Top)

Washington: If you find British actor Andy Serkis behaving like a gorilla, don't be surprised, because the actor is just trying to be as realistic as possible for his lead role in the remake of classic monster 'King Kong'. 'The Lord of the Rings' star, who provides motion capture and facial expressions for the computer generated King Kong, said that he was determined that his Kong should behave like a terrifying beast, and therefore, he researched the way he should kill his victims. "My angle is giving the gorilla as much truthfulness as possible, so people will think he is a real gorilla. He doesn't eat people, he kills people. He's savage. When they sacrifice the brides to him he connects that they are female and he is male - there is no doubt he understands that," Contactmusic quoted Serkis as saying. "He doesn't eat them, he rips them apart, limb from limb, because he can't mate with them. That's what drives him," he added. Directed by Peter Jackson, 'King Kong' also stars Naomi Watts , Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Jamie Bell , Kyle Chandler, Lobo Chan , Thomas Kretschmann , Eva Parke and John Sumner.

Keira Knightley's 'flower-therapy' to woo back lover (Go To Top)

London: Keira Knightley didn't get her love in Gurinder Chadha's 'Bend It Like Beckham', but in real life she won't let her love go that easily. The actress, who broke with model Jamie Dornan earlier this year, is reportedly so desperate to win him back that she is delivering flowers and food to his home. "She brings flowers and food round to his bachelor flat and tries to give it a woman's touch," femalefirst quoted an insider as telling Britain's Daily Express newspaper. While Knightley wants to give their relationship another chance, Dornan is busy launching his music career, and is said to be ignoring her advances. "At the moment, he's spending all his time in the studio working on his album, and he simply doesn't have time for Keira," the source added. Keep trying Keira, because everything is fair in love and war.
