Ganguly in Test team for series against Sri Lanka

Chennai: Former captain Sourav Ganguly has been named in the 15-member team for the upcoming three-match Test Series against Sri Lanka at home, while fast bowler Zaheer Khan fails to find a place. Announcing the team here today, Chairman of Selection Committee of the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), Kiran More said Ganguly has been picked as a batting all-rounder. Commenting on the exclusion of Zaheer, More said that it was a tough call leaving him out in spite of his good performance in the domestic season.

Uttar Pardesh pacer RP Singh, who had an impressive series against Sri Lanka earlier this month, has replaced Zaheer in the squad. Another new face in the Test squad is Wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who replaces Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper Dinesh Kaarthick.
