Hindus in Malaysia offer prayers to Lord Muruga

          Kuala Lumpur: With skewers in their cheeks, giant fish hooks on other parts of their bodies, thousands of Hindu devotees in Malaysia climbed steps to a cave on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur on January 23 to celebrate the Thaipusam festival. From early morning, a steady stream of people walked to the Sri Subramaniar Swamy temple in the Batu Caves to pay tribute to Hindu deity Lord Muruga.
