Rang Panchami celebrated in Indore

Indore: There was revelry on the streets of Indore to celebrate Rang Panchami. Rang Panchami is a festival celebrated five days after Holi. Men, women and children, danced and smeared colour on each other. People armed with water sprayers joined the procession, drenching revellers along the way. "It is like, I saw in Vrindavan. I pray that the whole world gets coloured with happiness. I feel like playing Rang Panchami everyday," said Uma Bharti, leader of Bharatiya Janashakti Party (BSP). Elaborate security arrangements were made for the festival. "Police carrying wireless sets have fanned out in the entire area. We have close circuit cameras installed in every nook and corner of the city to keep a check on any untoward incident," said Rameshwar Gupta, Additional District Magistrate. The procession culminated at the Holkar Palace.
