A young designer steals show at Lakme
                    Fashion Week       Mumbai: Designer
Nachiket Barve steals show with superior fashion geometry
in his spring or summer collection on the first day of the
Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) in Mumbai. Known for using geometry
in his collection, Barve again used the same pattern by creating
clusters of flowers, working with cuts, panels and seams and
played with contrast in rich shades. "Its an adjective for
being covered in flowers. The inspiration started from structure
of flowers. We are celebrating spring summer, so we wanted
something, which really captures the essence of that season,"
Barve said. The silhouettes were simple yet elegant for the
day and evening wear using colour blocking and paneling along
with cutworks and layers gave his dresses a novel look. LFW,
which will be held till October 24, will involve events like
media seminars, business-to-business meetings and a buyers'
forum, apart from the regular fashion shows. The event will
also provide a platform for fresh designers who possess the
talent through the Gen Next and emerging designer category
shows. Apart from this there would be 'Group Accessory Designer
show' where an array of accessories like headgears, handbags
and shoes would be an interpretation of fashion by 20 renowned
artists through their artworks. Around 75 designers would
showcase their collections in this season of the fashion week.
