court issues warrant for Monica Bedi
Bhopal
(Madhya Pradesh): A court in Bhopal has issued a production warrant
against underworld don Abu Salem's girlfriend Monica Bedi in connection
with a fake passport case. Superintendent of Police Anant Kumar Singh
said that a police team led by DSP (Crime) S K Shukla has been sent to
Hyderabad to ensure that Monica is present for the November 26 hearing
of the case, a production warrant for which was issued by Chief Judicial
Magistrate (First Class) Dinesh Kumar Dangi. DIG (Bhopal Range) Anuradha
Shankar said the police had sufficient evidence to arrest Bedi. Cases
had been lodged against five people -- including Salem and Monica -- for
getting their passports made under fake names in July 2001. The passports
were used by the duo to flee the country.
