TIRUPATHI The Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirupati, in the foothills of Tirumala, is one of the ancient temples of India. According to the Puranas, the seven Tirumala hills represent Adisesha. Adisesha is the serpent on which Lord Vishnu, the Protector, rests. The serpent has seven heads. The offerings at the temple in cash and kind run into crores of rupees. By air Tirupati is comnnected to Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Chittoor, Madras and Bangalore. There are trains to all major towns from the templetown. So also bus service.
