President's Nature Trail to have different summer timings for visitors

New Delhi: The Nature Trail in the President's Estate, which has been created to spread awareness on conservation of an eco-heritage through direct intervention in an eco-friendly township, will have new summer timings for visitors from March 28. The Nature Trail would now be open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on every Saturday. The Nature Trail is a result of President Pratibha Patil's keen interest to protect the ecological heritage of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. It is a part of the Roshini project, which is an effort taken on the directions of the Patil to ecologically make the President's estate a green, energy efficient and a zero waste model township. The ecological heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan along with natural and managed eco system of the President's Estate are an ideal platform for promoting education about natural and environmental awareness amongst students and visitors. The trail allows visitors to walk through 75 acres of the President's Estate, which has a natural forest eco system, an agro-eco system and a pond-eco system.
