Aviation fuel prices cut by four pc

New Delhi: The price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has been further reduced by four per cent. The new prices came into effect from Saturday midnight, and the fares have grounded to Re One! The jet fuel prices have touched a three-and-a-half year low. An Indian Oil Corporation official informed that the fuel prices in Delhi were slashed to Rs. 30,288 per kilolitre- 57 percent lower than the last August record price of Rs. 71,028 per kilolitre. The August record was set as global crude price that time was at a historic 147 dolars per barrel. In Mumbai, the price will be Rs. 31,176, down by Rs. 1,301 per kilolitre. The airlines which were earlier increasing their fares to compensate the high oil prices last year, have now reintroduced basic fares to Re. 1 to Rs. 99 that are topped by taxes and surcharge of nearly Rs. 3000.
