Kufri (Himachal Pradesh): Adventure seeking tourists are making a beeline for the hill resort of Kufri in Himachal Pradesh, famous for its trekking and hiking trails. Kufri is located at an altitude of 2,510 m, close to Shimla, the state capital. The region has been receiving heavy snowfall for the past week and its residents and tourists are making the most of this enjoyable wintry chill. The adrenalin pumping sport of skiing has also become a main attraction for many adventure sports enthusiasts. "It's really very enjoyable. People say that it's like mini- Switzerland though I feel it's maxi-Switzerland. The place is very enjoyable for honeymoon couples as well. Each and everything is enjoyable from yak riding to skiing and horse riding. Everything is just fabulous," said Monty, a thrilled tourist. The region's economy is also seeing a boost with the influx of tourists in large numbers as skiing makes a comeback to this area after 19 years. "The local youth are very happy as they have found more opportunities for employment. They are helping the tourists in skiing, which is benefiting them " said Vijay, a ski instructor. Around 20,000 tourists have visited Kufri in the last two weeks.
