179 killed as Boeing crashes, explodes in flames in South Korea

MUAN (South Korea), Dec 29: All except two of 175 passengers and six crew aboard
a South Korean plane were killed when the Boeing crash-landed at an airport
in south-western South Korea on Sunday morning. Those rescued were crew. Officially
it was confirmed by evening that 177 people are dead.
A video shows the plane skidding without landing gear before exploding into
flames in the Muan International Airport in Muan County, South Jeolla Province,
the southernmost province in mainland Korea.
Jeju Air flight 7C2216, a 25-year old Boeing 737-800, was coming from Thai
Capital Bangkok. While landing it veered off the runway and slammed a wall before
engulfing in flames with an explosion at 9 am (0000 GMT). The whole of the plane
was gutted beyond recognition.
Jeju Air, named after the Jeju island, is the largest low-cost South Korean
airline.
Among the passengers were two Thai nationals. The rest were South Koreans,
it is stated.

BNO News reported 179 people are presumed dead in the crash, quoting the fire
department. There were only 2 survivors.
The airline has a safety record. The flight data recorder (FDR) and the cabin
voice recorder (CVR) have been retrieved. They will show the cause of the crash.
Yonhap News reports: At 08:57, air traffic controllers warned the approaching
aircraft about bird strike risks. One minute later, at 08:58, the pilot declared
a “mayday”. The plane attempted to land at 09:00 and crashed at 09:03.
One of the two surviving crew members has reportedly corroborated the sequence.
Witnesses down who have spoken to Yonhap News have described seeing flames
in the jet’s engine and hearing explosions before the crash (which could also
be a sonic illusion).
Meanwhile, an Air Canada flight landed with broken landing gear at Halifax
airport. Some passengers had minor injuries.
The incident has triggered a debate on social media whether the officer refused to take orders from a party leader or he was accused of any corruption, some netizens justifying the handling in either case, that Ratnakar was blocking public welfare work! It is true the Govt machinery has been the enemy Number One of the people of this country, existing for itself and for these politicians, for well over seven decades. India will never make an inch of progress - real progress, not make-believe-progress - unless and until this machinery is eliminated.

PROGNOSIS: It looks a Real New Trump is emerging - courageous, balanced, powerful and disinterested. Determined to save his country from the cliff, he has done quite a few draconian things that will reduce the burden of debts of the Federal entity, like the golden handshake, stopping senseless funding, pulling out of a worthless WHO. Shutting the Education Department is another. On the other hand, running it is also not the Centre's job either (We will convincingly elaborate it in the next chapter).
In India the scene is just the opposite. Centralisation is the core agenda and identity of the ruling dispensation without which it has no existence, or in other words, it exists for that set of schemes only. A realisation of this never dawned upon any Opposition party in 2014 or any time thereafter, what to talk of being able to see it coming 70 years ago! The consequence of all this violation of basic natural law of the universe we cannot predict.
