Tri-centenary celebrations of Guru-ta Gaddi begins at Nanded

Nanded (Maharashtra): The tri-centenary Guru-ta Gaddi celebrations of Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of Sikhs, began today at Nanded in Maharashtra. During this ceremony, the sanctum sanctorum of Sach Khand Gurudwara and the weapons of Guru Govind Singh are bathed with the Godavari river water. A large number of Sikh pilgrims are washing the sanctum sanctorum and the outer portion of the Gurudwara. Experts have also been deputed to clean the golden dome of the Gurudwara. This ritual bathing of the sanctum sanctorum is conducted once in a year on Deepavali.
