send me Diwali gifts, donate to relief fund: PM

Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has appealed to the
general public not to send him gifts or sweets this Diwali,
but to contribute the money that they would have spent on
these items, to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
Announcing the appeal on behalf of the Prime Minister, his
media adviser, Dr. Sanjaya Baru, said that it was being made
in view of the destruction caused by the October 8 earthquake
in Jammu and Kashmir. "Don`t send me gifts, sweets or flowers
for Diwali. Just donate the money to the Prime Minister`s
National Relief Fund," Dr. Singh said, according to Baru.
NOTE:
The domestic and foreign travellers and tourists can, apart
