India wins second ODI against Sri Lanka by eight wickets

     Mohali (Punjab): Continuing with its splendid performance, India today crushed Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the second one-day international match to take 2-0 lead in the seven-match series. Irfan Pathan, who sent four Sri Lankan players to pavilion for 37 runs, was adjudged the Man of the Match. Chasing a target of 122 runs, India made 126 for 2 in just 20.2 overs. Openers Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar started on a blistering note, Tendulkar hitting seven boundaries and Sehwag contributing five hits to the fence from the other end. But Sehwag departed at 38. J P Yadav was then sent in to bat by Captain Rahul Dravid and who contributed nine runs, before Muttiah Muralitharan dismissed him. Sachin Tendulkar scored 66 off 67 delveries, with 11 boundaries to his credit. India won the opening match at Nagpur by 152 runs on Tuesday.
