Pak opens quake relief centres on LoC
Moscow:
Pakistan has opened earthquake relief centres along the
Line of Control (LoC) to improve the flow of aid and relief
supplies from across the Border for the benefit of the quake-hit
people in PoK, the country's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said
on Thursday before flying to Islamabad after attending a Shanghai
Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting. "Pakistan has opened
relief centres on various proposed points of movement across
the LoC," the Daily Times quoted Aziz as saying. Aziz said
people on both sides of the LoC wanted to visit their relatives
and take part in relief efforts. "This will be aid going in
both directions, not one-way traffic," he said adding that
Indian officials would meet Pakistani officials in Islamabad
on Friday "to sort out the modalities" of the Kashmir border
crossing points.
