ties at an unprecedented level: Putin

Moscow:
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said that his country's
relations with India were at an unprecedented high level of
political contact than ever before. Speaking to reporters after
a meeting with visiting Indian External Affairs Minister K.Natwar
Singh at his Dacha on the outskirts of Moscow, Putin said that
Indo-Russian ties over the last couple of years had not witnessed
any kind of interruption at all. While thanking Singh for attending
the SCO meeting in the Russian capital and for contributing
to it in a significant manner, Putin said he was looking forward
to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Russia next month.
On his part, Singh said that a whole range of issues, including
bilateral, regional and international, had been discussed with
both the Russian leadership and with other leaders attending
the SCO meeting. There was, he said, a unanimty of understanding
on all issues, and described the deliberations at the SCO as
most successful. The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, the Foreign
Secretaries of the two countries and other officials of both
sides were also present on the occasion.
