Di's wedding gown for 50,000 pounds (Go
To Top)
London:
A spare wedding gown made for Princess Diana will go under
the hammer soon. The Princess tried the ivory silk gown on
the morning of her wedding to the Prince Charles in 1981.
It is expected to fetch more than 50,000 pounds when it is
sold by Cooper Owen next month. The replica dress was made
by David and Elizabeth Emanuel in case of any problems with
the original taffeta gown, which is part of an exhibition
dedicated to the Princess at Althorp, her family's estate.
A replica of the wedding dress worn by the Duchess of York
is also being auctioned and is expected to fetch about 6,000
pounds. Other items in the sale, at Proud Galleries, in London,
include Queen Victoria's black skirt and bodice and a suit
that belonged to Winston Churchill, reports Timesonline.
Harry Potter will remain Harry Potter (Go

London:
Most filmstars may be afraid of being typecast after starring
in similar kinds of movies, but 'Harry Potter' actor Daniel
Radcliffe has no such fears, and wants to star in all seven
movies of the series. The teenage superstar, who has played
the wizard since the first movie in 2001, says he is having
a great time while filming for the series, and the role can't
typecast him as long as he is doing other stuff simultaneously.
"Ultimately it comes down to whether we're still enjoying
it. If we are then I think we would be sort of stupid not
to do them. As long as I'm doing other stuff around the same
time, I think it'll be fine," femalefirst quoted Radcliffe
as saying. "Also, I sort of try to read the books when they
come out impartially and not make up my mind, but the fact
is when I was reading the sixth, 'HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD
PRINCE', there were bits in there where I was going, 'God,
I would love to do that because it's so good,'" he added.
Pitt and Jolie pen a pre-nup (Go
To Top)
London:
'Pre-nuptial' - the word may come after 'marriage' in
the dictionary, but in celebrities' lives it has to come before
marriage. After reports of Katie Holmes asking fiance Tom
Crusie to sign a pre-nup agreement, Hollywood's hottest couple
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have also reportedly followed
suit. Pre-nup, it seems, has become a kind of fad in showbiz
circles, considering the high rate of break-ups and divorce.
And perhaps, this feeling of insecurity urged Jolie, who is
set to wed Pitt next month, to insist on the agreement. Sources
said she wants to ensure that her two adopted children, Maddox
and Zahara, will be well looked after if the pair divorced.
According to Femalefirst, the 'Troy' star has agreed on a
secret deal, which states that Jolie's children will never
have to worry about money. He is also planning to adopt more
children with the 'Tomb Raider' actress, but the duo will
have their own baby also. "Brad has always understood that
she wanted to adopt more because she has such strong feelings
about helping children born into poverty. But she would love
to have Brad's baby too," a source was quoted as telling Britain's
Grazia magazine. Pitt and Jolie are set to tie the knot at
George Clooney's Italian villa on December 1. And the actress
is reportedly planning to go on television to tell the world
about her relationship with Pitt.
Invesitgator
wants Marilyn's body exhumed (Go

Washington:
Marilyn Monroe's death invesitgator has urged Los Angeles
County authorities to dig up the screen beauty's body by using
modern technology to know the truth about her death. After
Monroe's death, rumours had become rife that she was murdered
by high-ranking government agents in a bid to cover up the
scandal of her romance with US President John F Kennedy. Deputy
district attorney John Miner had attended Monroe's autopsy
in 1962 and has been claiming since then that she was killed
by a lethal injection. "How can a woman rest in peace when
there's a lie about how she met her death? Monroe was denied
the basic right to which every American, dead or alive, is
entitled - due process of law," Contactmusic quoted Miner
as telling Playboy magazine. "(We need) an inquest, where
people are put on the witness stand and testify under oath
(and) an examination of all discrepancies and unanswered questions.
It would require exhuming the remains to attempt to determine
if there is enough identifiable colon tissue to subject to
gas chromatography. If gas chromatography showed that the
tissue had been exposed to the barbiturate (that killed Monroe),
you have at least one answer - somebody killed her. I don't
imagine the question of the killer's identity will ever be
solved, but there will be a correct diagnosis, and Monroe
will not be stigmatised as a suicide for all eternity," he
added.
Anthony
Hopkins to be honoured with Golden Globe (Go

Washington:
Oscar winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins will finally be
able to include the Golden Globe award among his list of achievements
when he receives the Cecil B DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement
at next year's ceremony. The awards are given by The Hollywood
Foreign Press Association to honor achievements in film and
television during the calendar year. And, Philip Berk, President
of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, said that the
decision to award Sir Anthony was as big a honour to the association
as it was to the actor. "It's a choice I am particularly proud
of. It's an honour to us as well as to him," Contactmusic
quoted him, as saying. Antony Hopkins, who won the Oscar for
his portrayal of the role of Dr Hannibal Lector, in the movie
"Silence of the Lambs", has been nominated on six previous
occasions but has never won the prestigious award. He will
now join the ranks of other Hollywood greats such as Gene
Hackman, Al Pacino, Robbin Williams and Michael Douglas.
Viagra
can save a woman's heart (Go

London:
There is much more to Viagra than just enhancing men's
love lives, a new research has now revealed that it can be
used to treat the heart. Researchers say the pill can help
the sufferers of a devastating heart and lung condition. Pulmonary
arterial hypertension delivers its blow mainly to young women,
killing about half of those afflicted within five years of
diagnosis. The condition, which affects about 100,000 people
worldwide, causes tiny blood vessels in the lungs to thicken
and narrow, often for no apparent reason. "It's tragic to
see a 32-year-old mom who can barely walk across the room,"
David Kass, a cardiologist at Johns Hopkins University in
Baltimore, Maryland, was quoted by Nature news, as saying.
"Anything that can make these people feel better is a big
deal," he added. Drugs currently prescribed for this disease
can help patients live more comfortably but they cost some
20,000 dollars per year says Kass. Viagra (sildenafil citrate),
famous for opening up blood vessels, provides a cheaper option.
Experts say the drug might help a wide variety of more common
heart and lung troubles. Researchers are even investigating
whether the pill could protect mountaineers from the potentially
lethal effect on the heart of high altitude and low oxygen
levels.
Madonna gets creative amidst Spartan settings

Washington:
Humble beginnings do at times have very happy endings,
and it is not only in fairy tales, but also in real life.
And so it is with the Queen of Pop, Madonna, who says that
by going back to her humble beginnings, where she used to
create her music in Spartan settings, she rediscovered her
creativity whilst recording for her acclaimed album, 'Confessions
On A Dance floor'. "To me, recording this album was like going
back. It was so liberating. I want to be in a small place
with no furniture. I want to keep it the way it was when I
started, sitting on the floor and scribbling in my notebook.
I work best under those circumstances," Contactmusic quoted
her, as saying.
Madonna throws 'mother of all parties'

London:
"Material Girl" turned pop queen, Madonna, may be picky
about her pals, but once she has picked them, she sure knows
how to spoil them. And that was blatantly obvious at her post-gig
bash at super-hip West End club Kabaret's Prophecy, on Tuesday
night, where she treated her exclusive clique of pals, including
Gwyneth Paltrow ,Bob Geldof and former Spice Girl Mel C, to
the "mother of all parties". The party, thrown by the star
to celebrate the release of her 11th album, Confessions On
A Dancefloor, reportedly cost her over 75000 pounds, and included
two giant bottles of Cristal champagne costing 10,000 pounds
a piece alongwith the finest cuisine provided by flash restaurant
Nobu. "The guests were feasting on rock shrimp tempura and
black cod and it was all polished off within minutes. It was
an absolutely no-expense-spared bash. "The canapes alone cost
#15,000, the Cristal flowed all night, plus mojitos and lemon
drop cocktails - but Madge stuck to vintage red wine and Kaballah
water. "The club even hired 50 extra staff just to valet park
the guests' cars. It was a really incredible night," The Mirror
quoted a source, as saying.
