Queen's absence will be felt strongly at Charles' wedding

     London: Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles' wedding will be marked by the absence of the Queen and Prince Philip as they will be the only members of the Royal Family to miss the wedding, according to Palace officials. Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne have all agreed to watch their brother tie the knot in Windsor Guildhall on April 8.While Prince William will act as a witness at the wedding, along with Camilla's son Tom Parker Bowles, reports the Sun. "On the surface the family attending appears to be good news for Charles and Camilla. But in reality it simply highlights the fact that both his parents have refused to be there," a royal source was quoted by the tabloid as saying. "The Palace have publicly insisted Her Majesty is not snubbing her son. But it is bewildering to think the whole Royal Family will sit in the Guildhall, while the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will wait behind the walls of Windsor Castle. Charles hoped his mother would change her mind and go. But she has dug her heels in and refused," he added.

Divorced ex-waitress to preside over royal marriage (Go To Top)

     London: Prince Charles' April 8 nuptials will be presided over by a divorced ex-waitress, unlike his first marriage to Princess Diana, which was officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Clarence House revealed that Clair Williams, Superintendent Registrar for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, would do the honours. "I've got the jitters and will be a bit nervous. But I've done more than a thousand weddings. I'll be all right on the day, Clair was quoted by the Sun as saying. "I'm delighted to have been asked to conduct this unique and historic ceremony. All weddings are special but this one will be extra special," he added. Claire split from her pharmacist husband three years ago after more than 20 years of marriage.

     London: Pop singer Mariah Carey has revealed that she realised her marriage to Sony records boss Tommy Mottola was a big mistake during her honeymoon. The sexy singer confessed her happiness following the couple's spectacular 1993 nuptials was very brief, and she spent much of the subsequent honeymoon alone. "Everybody talks about (the wedding) but no one saw me on the honeymoon, running down the beach, miserable, crying and alone," the singer was quoted by Femalefirst, as saying. "My relationship with my husband was not a physical relationship. It just wasn't. I still have nightmares about it," she added.

     London: In a bid to make a jibe at all the people who have criticised her relationship with Ashton Kutcher Hollywood beauty Demi Moore dressed up as an old lady on US TV show 'Saturday Night Live'. The stunning actress, who, at 42, is 15 years older than her toyboy lover, wore a grey wig, and heavy prosthetic make-up during the show. "These magazines that focus on our age difference - I just don't get it," Kutcher was quoted by Femalefirst as saying. Meanwhile, the handsome actor, who has been dating Moore for two years, says there's no truth in the rumours she is expecting, and despite all the speculation, the couple are not engaged.

Ben Affleck to direct his first film (Go To Top)

     London: Ben Affleck is all set to direct the adaptation of the novel "Gone, Baby, Gone", written by Mystic River author Dennis Lehane. According to Fox news,the plot of Affleck's directorial debut will revolve around two private detectives in a working-class Boston, Massachusetts, neighbourhood who are hired to search for a kidnapped four-year-old girl. Affleck, who most recently featured onscreen in Surviving Christmas, will not act in the movie and will start shooting in Boston in autumn.

P Diddy is to remake 'Ocean's 11' with an all-black cast (Go To Top)

    London: Rap star, P. Diddy is all set to make a movie in the line of 'Ocean's 11', and has decided to cast only black actors, including oscar winning stars, Denzel Washington and Jamie Fox to highlight African-American talents in the Hollywood. The founder of Bad Boy, hip-hop impresario Sean is likely to follow the style of 'Ocean's 11' directed by Steven Soderbergh, which was one of the popular blockbusters in 2001 and it's cast included stars like George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. "I was watching Ocean's 11 and I just couldn't relate to it.You have all these black icons, Chris Rock or Chris Tucker in comedy, Denzel Washington and Jamie Foxx in acting, me and Jay-Z in music, what about us?", New York Daily News quoted Diddy as saying. "It's about time to put the greatest black icons in a film together. We're not running around in 'do-rags and low riders anymore.I'm trying to hit the big screen, baby. I'm trying for my head to be six-feet tall", he added.
