Petition against Meera for immorality (Go To Top)

     Lahore: The hue and cry over Pakistani actress Meera performing alleged bold scenes in the film Nazar doesn't seem to die down. After all the hype Meera's "bold performance" in the film generated, a person has filed a petition against the actress in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on grounds that Meera had performed in immoral scenes that did not match with Pakistan's religious and social values, the Daily Times quoted a report in the ARY news channel as saying. The report said that the petition, filed by one Muzaffar Hussain Askari, would be presented before a two-member SHC bench for hearing, adding that the Religious Affairs Ministry and Culture and Tourism Ministry were also made party in the petition, The petition has also asked the court to ban the film in Pakistan and restrain Meera from working on such projects in future.

Prince Charles calls Army to save his marriage (Go To Top)

     London: Prince Charles' much publicised royal civil wedding at Windsor's Guildhall will be packed with military personnel to ensure that any objectors are kept out. According to the Daily Mail, the law requires register offices to open their doors to the public. But Clarence House plans to fill the Guildhall with so many people that no one else will be allowed in the building because of health and safety regulations. "The wedding party and their guests will occupy all the spaces in the room in which the marriage is to be solemnised. On health and safety grounds, therefore, there will be no room for anyone not invited to attend." the Head of Marriages and Adoptions, David Hillman was quoted as saying.

Cameron Diaz has a great fall (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood beauty Cameron Diaz reportedly suffered a severe head injury and was rushed to the hospital after she fell from a chest of drawers in her cupboard. The actress was reaching above a wardrobe when she tumbled. Her boyfriend Justin Timberlake heard the crash and rushed upstairs at their Hollywood Hills home. He found Cameron unconscious on the floor of their bedroom and bleeding badly from a head wound. "Justin was frantic with worry. Cameron was passed out cold and covered in blood from her head wound. He was freaked out. He managed to bring her round by talking to her and holding her but she couldn't move," a pal was quoted by the Sun, as saying.

     London: Want to trap burglars? Then try tempting them with a pizza topped with cheese, carrots or apple in your kitchen ,as if they cannot resist grabbing a bite while they rob,their DNA on the slice will be enough to nab them. According to the New Scientist,the spit collected on nibbling at a pizza can hold enough DNA to identify the culprit.However chocolates fail to prove useful as enough saliva is not secreted on eating them. Doctors Heather Zarsky and Ismail Sebetan tested the best foods for recovering DNA by throwing a dinner party in La Jolla,California, whereguests were asked to eat a few bites of whatever they liked the most. Cheese, carrots, apples and pizza returned the most complete DNA profiles. The message is that police should collect food at the scene and try it for DNA." The Sun quoted Dr.Zarsky as saying.

Britney's husband smells, claims his ex-girlfriend (Go To Top)

     London: Love they say is blind, and it certainly seems to ring true for Britney, for if her hubby Kevin's ex girlfriend Amy Woods is to be believed,he not only has bad breath,but also smelly feet! She has further claimed that he did not wash for days during a gambling spree in Las Vegas, "He wouldn't shower or brush his teeth at all."she was quoted by The Sun as saying. Britney's spokesman, however, refuted the claims.

J-Lo gets her nude portrait as a gift from hubby (Go To Top)

     London: J Lo's hubby Marc Anthony has reportedly painted a nude portrait of his lady love that has left her extremely flattered. According to In Touch weekly magazine,the portrait that depicts her from her backside,has found a place in her bedroom wall. "J.Lo was so flattered by the beautiful portrait Marc painted of her that she hung it in her dressing room at home. It's very artistic and tasteful."the magazine quoted a source as saying.

Yoghurt kills bad breath (Go To Top)

     London: Researchers have revealed that eating sugar-free traditional yoghurt can kill bacteria that causes bad breath. At the 83rd General Session of the International Association for Dental Research, convening at the Baltimore Convention Center, investigators from Tsurumi University (Yokohama, Japan) presented results from a study investigating the effects of eating sugar- free traditional yoghurt on the components of oral malodor and harmful bacteria. They found that the levels of volatile sulfide compounds, namely, hydrogen sulfide, decreased in 80 percent of the volunteers after six weeks. Further, the plaque and gingival indices in the yoghurt-eating volunteers were significantly lower than in the non-yoghurt-eating group with bad breath. The results suggest that eating traditional yoghurt may reduce the components of oral malodor and harmful bacteria.

Tara Reid sues over her wardrobe malfuction (Go To Top)

     Washington: Actress Tara Reid has filed a libel suit against Sky Las Vegas, a 405-unit luxury high-rise development, for an advertisement campaign that she claims has harmed her reputation. According to Eonline, Sky played off Reid's wardrobe malfunction during P. Diddy's 35th birthday party in New York last November, where her dress slipped accidentally, baring her cleavage. The tagline of the ad says "Dear Tara Reid. Come let it all hang out." "This advertisement is defamatory because the language carried a defamatory meaning to those who read them rather than an innocent meaning by implying that plaintiff is sexually lewd or immoral," the Tara's suit asserts. Reid is seeking a court-imposed ban on future ads from Sky using her name in addition to monetary damages.

Bruce Willis is a Die Hard dater (Go To Top)

     London: Bruce Willis surprised onlookers at the after premiere party of his latest flick the 'Hostage' when he reportedly tried to cozy up with his teenaged co star Lindsay Lohan. The 'Die Hard' star, who turns 50 this month, locked in a passionate embrace with Lindsay who is too young to be his daughter. "Bruce had Lindsay's pants down far enough to reveal a tattoo that said 'La Bella Vista' - The Beautiful View - on her right cheek," a source was quoted by the New York Post, as saying.

Drew Barrymore to get Decade of Achievement award (Go To Top)

     New York: After struggling to make her career in Hollywood, as a child artist Drew Barrymore has finally made it to the top. ShoWest 2005, the annual convention of theatre owners will honour the actress-producer with its Distinguished Decade of Achievement in Film award at its closing-night ceremony in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 17, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The actress will be honoured alongside George Lucas, Hayden Christensen, Jessica Biel, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Bernie Mac and "The Incredibles" writer-director Brad Bird.
