Potter for just 5 pounds for under 15's (Go To Top)

     London: If you are under 15 and a fan of Harry Potter there is reason for you to cheer up, for Potter's sixth book is all for grabs at five pounds. According to The Mirror, high street store Kwik Save is offering the book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for just 4.99 pounds claiming it has "plenty of copies" at its 500 stores. It is only open to children of 15 and under or adults accompanied by a youngster. "We feel it's a bit unfair that so many adults muscle in on what's essentially a children's book. That's why we're selling only to children aged 15 or under, unless the grown-up is accompanied by a minor," spokesman Pete Williams was quoted as saying.

Britney puts her private life on DVD (Go To Top)

     Washington: Pop star Britney Spears is planning to release her five episode reality show, 'Britney + Kevin: chaotic' on DVD, despite its lacklustre ratings during its recent run on American TV. The show, which will give fans an insight into singer's romance and marriage to Kevin Federline, is scheduled to hit stores on 23 August. Fans who purchase a copy of the DVD will be treated to an additional 30 minutes of previously unseen footage and videos of her tracks, 'Do Something' and 'Someday (I Will Understand), reports ratethemusic.com.

Man becomes beauty queen (Go To Top)

     London: The winner of a German beauty contest, 24- year-old Kira, has confessed that till two years back she was a man called Tarek. Kira, who would always feel like a woman trapped in a man's body, was voted the winner unanimously by judges at the Miss Marksmen Festival 2005 held in Hanover. "I always felt that I was a woman trapped in a man's body and always wanted to be treated as such. This prize means a lot to me as it shows I really am a woman now", Ananova quoted her as saying. Kira had been among the nine contestants at the traditionally conservative men's shooting and archery club, Schuetzenverein Hannover's annual beauty pageant, and it was only after she accepted her prize did she admit the reality. The members of the club, however, said that they would not be stripping Kira of the title and would make her an honorary member instead.

Rolling Stone Richard becomes Pirate Depp's dad (Go To Top)

     London: Rolling Stones star Keith Richards is all set to make his Hollywood debut by starring in sequel to 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. The guitarist will play father to Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, who reportedly spent months trying to convince Richards to take up the cameo. "I can confirm Keith Richards will appear in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' 2 or 3 I'm not sure which one, because they are being filmed back to back", co star Billy Nighy revealed. Depp, who had appeared in the original film, had resembled Richards with braided hair and eye liner. "I sort of thought that pirates would be the rock 'n' roll stars of the 18th Century. And the greatest rock 'n' roll star of all time is Keith Richards, hands down", Femalefirst quoted Depp as saying.

Gervais wants Spielberg, Springsteen for 'Extras' (Go To Top)

     London: Ricky Gervais of "The Office' fame now plans to rope in Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg and rocker Bruce Springsteen to star in the next series of his new show 'Extras'. Ricky and his writing partner Stephen Merchant are already in talks about a second run even though the first one doesn't start on BBC2 until next week. "Someone like Steven Spielberg would be amazing - you'd see the man behind the myth, or rather we'd play with him. And Bruce Springsteen would be good," Stephen was quoted by the Sun, as saying. "As you can see, we're setting our sights very high," Ricky added. The actor has also asked Madonna and Brad Pitt to appear in Extras, in which he plays Andy Millman. Guests in the first series include film stars Kate Winslet, Samuel L Jackson and Ben Stiller.

Michael Caine thinks Katie Holmes' too tall for Cruise (Go To Top)

     London: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes might be quite a pair but movie legend Michael Caine has his own views. According to Ananova, he thinks Cruise is too small for Holmes who is 5ft 8 inches tall. Michael quipped that "she's a bit tall" for Cruise who is at least one inch smaller than her. "Nicole has this cold image but she's a knockout - I adore her. And Katie is fun too. I keep hearing she is going to be the next Mrs Tom Cruise. She's a bit on the tall side," he was quoted as saying.

Cruise sends The Beckhams to Oprah (Go To Top)

     New York: The Oprah show may soon be having the Beckhams as guests, for David and Victoria Beckham have been advised to appear on the Show. According to the New York Post, the Beckham's latest best friend, Tom Cruise has advised them to appear on Oprah's show, and ask her to quiz them on any questions about their marriage. The couple spent time in the US earlier this year when David opened a football academy.
