Women get turned on by the scent of dominant men (Go To Top)

     London: A new study has revealed that women subconsciously prefer the scent of dominant men when they are at the most fertile stage of the menstrual cycle. Researchers in Prague asked 48 men to assess how dominant they felt. The men then wore cotton pads in their armpits for 24 hours, which were subsequently presented to 65 women. Those who were ovulating rated the "dominant" men as sexiest, but there was no similar pattern among women at other stages of their menstrual cycle. The findings, published in Biology Letters, suggest women are evolved to seek out the most virile sexual partner when conception is likely. But the rest of the time they probably prefer potential social partners. There seems to be some sort of physiological mechanism that directs women to indicators of good genes Each of the women taking part in the experiment rated the odour of 10 pads for their intensity, sexiness and masculinity. The researchers found women who were ovulating were more likely to rate the odour of dominant men as sexy. This was particularly the case among women who were in a relationship. "There seems to be some sort of physiological mechanism that directs women to indicators of good genes. The offspring of such a coupling would therefore be likely to have better genes," researcher Dr Craig Roberts told the BBC. However, the researchers admit that the exact mechanisms in play are not known.

According to the Nydailynews, The satirical site has Tom's views on Scientology, women in general and Katie Holmes in particular. "I will forever with this woman [Holmes] be jumping on couches, dancing on tables and hanging from chandeliers." The site also offers TomCruiseIsNuts coffee mugs, baseball caps and T-shirts for sale. His lawyers however have threatened to sue the duo behind the web site for using the actor's name for making money.

Leonardo DiCaprio charges a fee for an autograph (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio reportedly shocked a young fan when he demanded a fee for signing an autograph. According to Femalefirst, the young girl had approached the Hollywood heartthrob at Chicago's O'Hara airport for his signature and was horrified when he told her: "I don't sign autographs for anyone anymore - unless I get paid". When the fan said she would never pay for any signature, DiCaprio was reportedly heard saying, according to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "Then you're not getting an autograph".

     Washington: Hollywood muscleman Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly took joke lessons from US funnyman Milton Berle, when he first arrived in America. According to Contactmusic, the Austrian-born actor-turned- politician was still struggling to learn English when he asked the "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" star to help him perfect his humour, so he could be a hit at Hollywood parties. "He gave me thousands of jokes for every occasion. Birthday parties, this party, that party," Schwarzenegger said. "He had a whole file in his head. Yes, I was really serious about learning jokes. I knew I had to make people laugh. We'd sit down and he'd say, 'Here's how you deliver this line...' I was over at his house all the time because I was interested in American humour," he added.

     Washington: Movie hunk Vince Vaughn has rubbished all rumours about his ongoing romance with co-star Jennifer Aniston. Vaughn, who is currently shooting for his latest film 'The Break Up' in Chicago, had recently been photographed cuddling Aniston on the sets. The 36-year-old actor, who insists that he is good friends with Aniston, if furious at the rumours, and says that he would not take advantage of her so soon after her split with Pitt. "We're making a film together, man. Jennifer's a sweet girl, but she's very vulnerable right now and has been through a really hard time. I know people would love it if we were dating, but we're not.      London: Pop star Britney Spears, who was reportedly in talks with magazine Vanity Fair to pose naked for the cover photo, is reconsidering her decision. Britney's representatives have confirmed that she will appear fully clothed on the October issue of the magazine. Britney, who is due to give birth later this year, has also contacted her record label, Jive Records, to discuss recording a new album, in order to stage a comeback, reports Fox News.

     Washington: Pop star Justin Timberlake is being considered for the villainous role of Harvey Dent, for the sequel to Batman Begins. The producers of the Caped Crusader's history are also reportedly considering actor Liev Shreiber for the role, which was previously played by Billy Dee Williams and Tommy Lee Jones in Batman and Batman Begins respectively, reports Ratethemusic.com According to website Cinescape.com, Timberlake is currently in negotiations with the producers to play the role.

Angelina Jolie adopts Ethiopian AIDS orphan (Go To Top)

     Washington: Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie is reportedly adopting a new born Ethiopian girl orphaned by AIDS. Jolie, who is well known for her work as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees, said the baby would be named Zahara Marley Jolie but refused to reveal the child's age, height or weight, according to People's magazine. Jolie said that she and her son Maddox, 3, whom she adopted from a Cambodian orphanage, were "very happy to have a new addition to our family". "Angie's over the moon, It's a dream come true. She's always wanted to extend her family. Angelina's adopting as a single mother and she wants that emphasised, a source said.

Prince William in air scare drama (Go To Top)

     London: Prince William was in an air scare after bad weather forced his pilot to abort two landings. The Air New Zealand plane had to divert to Christchurch after twice trying to land at an airstrip at remote Invercargill. "I'd rather abort the landings than plough into the runway," William was quoted by he Sun, as saying. Pilot Jeff Linton was unable to land due to low clouds and poor visibility. Mr Linton said later: "This is the first time I've ever had to abort a landing. It would have to happen today of all days." William was flying from Auckland and was due to visit a school in Queenstown, near Invercargill. The one hour ten-minute flight turned into a three-hour drama as the ATR 72-500 turbo-prop plane flew back to Christchurch.

     Washington: Model turned actress Elizabeth Hurley is thrilled to be united with her beloved pet dog Emily, because she was convinced the Labrador had been kidnapped after it went missing last month. According to Contactmusic, Hurley and fiance Arun Nayar enrolled friends and family to search the area surrounding her Kensington, London home after the eight-month-old dog vanished. And her fears were confirmed by recent crime reports that up to 2,000 dogs are being kidnapped a month in Britain. But a dog warden finally found the canine and was surprised when the dog's microchip collar revealed its famous owner. "I'm absolutely over the moon," Hurley said.

     London: Tennis aces, sisters Venus sand Serena Williams are competing for the role of a bisexual hooker in the new movie, X-men 3. The movie, which also stars Halle Berry and Sir Ian McKellen, will be directed by Brett Ratner, who had dated Serena recently. Ratner had invited both the sisters to take a test for the role of Pherma, as he feels that either one would be perfect for it. "Brett feels either of the girls would be fantastic for the role, which is a superhero who oozes sex appeal.      London: Actress Katie Holmes has revealed that she has a sweet tooth and she loves binging on cakes and pies. "I eat too much sugar. But if you're not eating enough sugar, you're not living in my opinion. You've got to have some sugar - dark chocolate, carrot cake, white cake, chocolate cake, pie, cheesecake, brownies, chocolate-chip cookies. Anything except tarts. I'm not really into tarts but I'll eat them", The Sun quoted her as saying. Holmes, who is engaged to Tom Cruise, has also confessed that food has never been an issue with her.
