David Beckham gets an 'Instinct' for fragrance (Go To Top)

     London: Football star David Beckham's signature perfume 'Instinct' will be sold throughout Europe from September and is expected to generate sales of 23-28 million pounds in the first year. According to femalefirst, a huge promotional campaign is expected to launch the fragrance by cosmetic giant Coty, which already has successful perfume ranges endorsed by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker. The Real Madrid star currently endorses Coty's sister company Adidas, as well as Gillette and Vodafone.

Sean Connery finally finds a 'Virgin' (Go To Top)

     Washington: Movie star Sir Sean Connery is thrilled that Virgin Atlantic Airways has finally given in to his persistent pleas for flights to be provided in and out of the Bahamas. The 'James Bond' star fell in love with the Bahamas after filming for his 1965 movie 'Thunderball' there, and has been living there since. He has been campaigning for past six years to persuade Virgin Atlantic to start flying to the islands, and his efforts paid off when the first flight arrived in Nassau this week. "It was actually, believe it or not, Sean Connery who over the last five or six years would consistently be ringing me up and sending me notes and asking, 'When are you going to come to the Bahamas?'      London: Pop diva Madonna's new children's collection is now available for sale on her website English Rose, which she named after her children's books. According to femalefirst, the new range designed by the singer includes clothes, jewellery, shoes and accessories designed by the singer. Fans can buy book cover tee-shirts, embroidered shorts, Denim mini skirts and cropped jeans. There are also dinky umbrella charm bracelets and beaded toggle necklacesto complete the English Rose look. Kids can also choose from a range of trainers in bright colours as well as pumps and dressing up shoes.

Sir Paul McCartney goes begging in London  (Go To Top)

     Washington: Sir Paul McCartney spent a day begging for alms in London in disguise. According to Femalefirst, he donned a fake beard and dark glasses and took his guitar to central London. "It was for a film thing and it was something I'd always wanted to do So I scruffed myself up a bit, put on a false beard and shades, and went down to Leicester Square tube station It was really cool," he was quoted as saying. "A couple of people came up and said, 'Is it you?' but I just said, 'Oh, no'. "But I got a few shillings and I thought, 'This doesn't feel right' So I gave it to charity ," he added.

'Queen' named most successful UK music act (Go To Top)

      Washington: Rock legends Queen have been named the most successful music act in UK album chart history, according to figures released by the Guinness World Records. In the list compiled by the Book of British Hit Singles and Albums, the band has beaten legendry singer Elvis Presley and the Beatles by spending a staggering 1,322 weeks in the British charts. "Given that Queen's chart career has been much shorter than those of The Beatles and Elvis, this is an incredible achievement. They've long been written about with reverence in the pages of our book, and this just serves to cement their legendary status," Ratethemusic quoted the book's editor David Roberts as saying

Tom Cruise and Katie may marry in a month (Go To Top)

     London: Hollywood star Tom Cruise and 'Batman Begins' actress Katie Holmes are reportedly planning to wed next month at the Scientology headquarters in Los Angeles. "Tom has encouraged Katie to embrace our faith and they have both agreed to a Scientology wedding service. It has become a prerequisite of Tom's that the closest people in his life should also be Scientologists. He was mortified when Nicole turned her back on his faith but he is overjoyed Katie has embraced it," Fox News quoted an insider as saying to More magazine. The source also revealed that the two are planning to spend their honeymoon on a luxury yacht.

     London: A new survey conducted by Muller has revealed that classic American stars like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley are sexier than today's Hollywood icons. According to Daily Mail, the poll asked 1,000 Britons which American stars they would most like to spend the night with. Fifties screen legend Marilyn Monroe came top of the list of women, followed by actress Doris Day while Angelina Jolie came third. Elvis came top of the men's list, followed by John Wayne and Frank Sinatra. Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt came eight and tenth respectively. "It's clearly evident from the poll that the British public hankers after the sophistication and glamour of American classics, which outshine the glitz of modern day Hollywood." Muller brand manager Angela Paine was quoted as saying.
