Aish to star in Michael Douglas' film (Go To Top)

     Mumbai: Oscar-winning US star Michael Douglas is hoping to sign Bollywood darling Aishwarya Rai for his next adventure flick, "Racing the Monsoon", to be shot in India. Both of them met in Los Angeles last year - some months ago - where it was discussed they should work together. "Racing the Monsoon" will be the third part in an adventure trilogy, following the films "Romancing the Stone" and "Jewel of the Nile" which hit screens 20 years ago. There was no immediate comment available about the movie from Rai who told US television audiences last month she had never had an on-screen Bollywood kiss but that did not mean she would not smooch in a Hollywood movie.

Oprah Winfrey may call it quits (Go To Top)

     London: Talk show Queen Oprah Winfrey has reportedly hinted that she may retire and end her immensely popular show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, once her contract expires in 2011. The New York Post reported that Oprah told TV executives at a Las Vegas party that she plans to end the show once her contract is over. However, the talk-show queen has twice before hinted she would quit only to reverse course.

Charlotte Church to make millions with her R&B debut (Go To Top)

     London: Teenaged singing sensation Charlotte Church is set to make a fortune with the release of her new album. According to Femalefirst, the opera singer, who will release her debut R&B album in April, is hoping to make up to 5million pounds from the record. The 18-year old singer who has previously released four opera albums, will be singing about alcohol, cigarettes, curries and boys on her forthcoming album. The Welsh star revealed, "It's make or break with this album. If it doesn't do well I'll be too disheartened to make another one. I'm really hoping it will do well because I like it but I have no expectations."

Timberlake's mom does not approve of Cameron Diaz (Go To Top)

     London: Pop singer Justin Timberlake who is in a relationship with actress Cameron Diaz will reportedly have to reckon with his mother before he decides to wed his much older girlfriend. A source close to Timberlake told the Star he was ready to propose to Diaz, over New Year, but his mom Lynne Harless, disapproved of his decision. "Nobody knows why she doesn't like Cameron; maybe it's because she thinks no one is good enough for her son. It could be the age thing, too. Supposedly, she wasn't thrilled when he was dating Alyssa Milano, who was also nine years his senior. " the source added. Harless has reportedly said she thinks her son is too young to marry and should have a long engagement.

Minnie Driver believes butt shaking made JLo successful (Go To Top)

     London: JLo might think otherwise, but actress- turned-musician Minnie Driver believes that Jlo's dancing skills and sex appeal made it far easier for her to make the transition from movie star to pop singer. According to Femalefirst, she dismissed J.Lo's "butt shaking" as her only real contribution to the music scene. "If you dance and you're really hot, there's no doubt you can cross over. I play the guitar and sing songs I wrote about my life. Butt shaking is not my specialty," she was quoted as saying.

Paris Hilton vows to remain single all heir life (Go To Top)

     London: The failure of her past relationships seems to have forced Paris Hilton into making the decision that she would remain single forever. According to Femalefirst, she said that she is enjoying life on her own and has no intentions of getting tied down. "I've been in a relationship ever since I was 16, so this is the first time I've been single and I love it. I'm young and I just need to be on my own to focus on my career. I'm very happy being single at the moment," she was quoted as saying.

A man who hasn't slept for 50 years (Go To Top)

     Beijing: Song Shikuan, a 71-year-old resident of Pinyu city in China's Henan province, claims that he sleeps only for a few minutes every night. The medical world is baffled to find the reason behind Shikaun's insomnia. The septuagenarian says that for the past 50 years all that he requires is a few minutes' nap every night. "I feel totally okay, except for the dryness of my eyes," the Daily Times quoted him as saying in a report in the Chinese paper Dahe Daily. According to the paper, he is being treated at his local people's hospital where he also works as a cleaner. But doctors have been unable to cure his insomnia, said the report.
