NE Express derails in Bihar

     Patna: The New Delhi-bound Northeast Express derailed today morning in Bihar at about 1.45 am. The Railways have confirmed that five people had received minor injuries in the accident. Initial reports said that today around 1.45 am five bogies from the rear of the train were derailed between Tilrath and Barauni stations in Bihar. Train no. 5621 northeast express starts from Guwahati at 08.15 in the morning and is scheduled to arrive at New Delhi at 20.25 next day evening.

Schools close to protest student's kidnapping (Go To Top)

     Patna: Several private schools in Patna have been closed down for the day as a mark of protest against the kidnapping of a Delhi Public School student. The police are yet to achieve any breakthrough in the case. Kishalay Gupta, a 14-year old class eleven student of Delhi Public School in Patna was kidnapped on Wednesday from Patel Nager area of Patna. He was kidnapped while he was going to the bus stop from his residence. "Everything has changed. When we leave, our mothers say be careful, come back early. There is no freedom," said Kajal, a student. Some students have plans to go on a relay hunger strike also, if Kishalay is not found. Prayers were also organised by students Sunday for the safety of Kishalay. But amidst this turmoil, the Patna administration doesn't have any idea about 'who, where and why' dimensions of this case.

Delhi trial court lawyers on strike (Go To Top)

New Delhi: Lawyers belonging to the Capital's trial courts went on strike for a day today in protest against the alleged custodial death of Sanjay Gupta, one of their colleagues. Advocates will not attend courts in Patiala House, Tis Hazari and Karkardooma in Delhi. The police in a complaint case took advocate Gupta into custody on Friday. Soon after being arrested, he developed chest pain and was shifted to the AIIMS where he was declared brought dead. According to the lawyers, the charges against Gupta were not serious and did not warrant his police custody.
