Aishwarya to be 'Mistress of Spices' in Hollywood movie

     Washington: Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is to star opposite Dylan McDermott in "The Mistress of the Spices," a new Hollywood movie. The movie directed by Paul Mayeda Berges is based on the novel by Chitra Divakaruni. It centres on Tilo, an immortal woman born in a mystical, faraway place, who is trained in the ancient art of healing with spices, reports Zap2it.com. She opens up shop in California, but faces a tough decision when she falls in love with a handsome mortal. If the movie follows the usual Hollywood formula, Rai can also look forward to her first on-screen kiss.

Scarlett Johannson uses anti-ageing cream to stay young (Go To Top)

     London: Scarlett Johansson might be 20, but she still uses anti-ageing cream to ward off old age. Johansson was quoted by Femalefirst as further saying that there is so much pressure in Hollywood to stay young, that she is already preparing for the ravages of old age. "Everybody in Hollywood is so damn beautiful. It's hard not to feel under pressure. I already use anti-ageing products. I have an obsessive character. I manicure my nails at three in the morning because nobody else can do it right," she was quoted as saying.

Weatherman sacked over 'lousy' forecast (Go To Top)

     London: The head weatherman of Romania's National Meteorology Agency has been sacked because his forecasts were "lousy". According to Ananova, Ion Poiana was fired for unreliable forecasts. He failed to predict a recent cold snap which left three people dead, the Black Sea frozen and a record temperature of minus 36C. "We took this decision due to the lousy weather forecasts we had lately. We consider the modern facilities for meteo prognosis were not used properly and mayors from all the country received wrong warnings. For example the mayor of Bucharest should have banned traffic according to the forecast he received," Adevarul newspaper quoted Romania's environment minister Sulfina Barbu was quoted as saying.

     Washington: Virginia is likely to make a legislation to penalise both men and women who fail to put their pants at the right place. The fine to be imposed would be 50 dollars The need for the law-in-the-making arose after witnessing the latest fashion trends whereby people, of both the sexes, wear their pants too low exposing boxer shorts or sexy thong strings in a "lewd or indecent manner", the Daily Times reported today while quoting an agency report. According to the paper, the House chamber in Virginia's General Assembly voted 60-34 in favour of the so-called "droopy drawers" Bill.
