          London: England soccer skipper David Beckham dropped off his 5-year old son Brooklyn for his first day at school and reportedly ended up wiping a tear himself. According to The Sun, Brooklyn burst into tears when the moment came for his dad to leave him in school. The Real Madrid star midfielder waved his son goodbye but choked with emotion as he walked off, while Victoria stayed in their car. The pop star, however, returned later with her 2-year-old son Romeo to collect Brooklyn from the 1,300 pounds-a-term English language school in Madrid. "The occasion was too much for Brooklyn and he started crying. David carried him through the gates, but the emotion got to him too," the report quoted an onlooker as saying. "He had tears in his own eyes as he left and put a hand to his face to stop himself from crying," the onlooker added. A bodyguard checked out the classrooms three hours before the soccer sensation's son arrived at 9am, and was later joined by a colleague. The bodyguards are expected to stay on the school premises during Brooklyn's classes.

         London: David Beckham has reportedly bought some sexy undergarments for his pop star wife Victoria from 'Lord Hills Estate', an exclusive firm. According to The Sun, Beckham ordered handmade lingerie worth more than 1,000 pounds including a gold corset for the four months pregnant former Spice Girl, and wanted the 'expensive lingerie' to be delivered at their Hertfordshire spread, Beckingham Palace. He also asked the firm, which employs a tiny team of four people and uses age-old technique to make a perfect fit for its customers, to design him a matching gold thong and garter. "Becks ordered the range of underwear a few weeks ago. He seemed to know exactly what he wanted and asked for a corset, G-string and garter," the report quoted a source as saying. "The company makes corsets for a lot of high-profile people and it is very well respected in showbiz circles," added the source.

          London: Actor Tom Hanks has some confessions to make - to his producers, to his children and to himself. The "Forest Gump" star has admitted that he had worked in too many movies, which consequently affected his ability both as an actor and as a father. The "Caste Away" star confessed that he couldn't decline film proposals out of fears that work would dry up. "I think there was a period of time when I worked too much. I thought they would never ask me to make any more movies, so every one that came along, I had to say yes to," the Independent quoted Hanks as saying. "There was a period of time where it seemed like all I did was work and then talk about myself and my movies. And I couldn't get past the fact that my kids were growing up without me," he added.

According to femalefirst, the "Titanic" actress was spotted outside her luxurious new home on city's West 22nd Street last week, probably inspecting how the renovations were coming along.           Washington: Pop diva Britney Spears and her ex- husband Jason Alexander reportedly had fun grabbing each other's butts in a club, a year-and-a-half before they said 'I Do' to each in a hurried wedding ceremony. The 'Toxic' star's 55-hours-old hubby revealed that Britney and he were attracted to each other more than a year beforehand, when they met in their native place Louisiana. Jason was Britney's childhood sweetheart. "A couple years ago she was home and we all went out, had a good time. We had some drinks. According to the Daily Star, Britney plans to pamper herself with drinks, movies and perhaps even a stripper before she walks down the aisle with Kevin Federline on November 20. 'Hal' malfunction in 'Space Odyssey' voted best sci-fi scene ever (Go To Top)

          London: The scene from Stanley Kubrick's 1968 classic '2001: A Space Odessey's,' where the crew of the space ship realize that that the supercomputer Hal, which controls the entire ship, has gone mad, has been voted the best science fiction scene ever. According to BBC, the survey conducted by Sky One Channel questioned a number of prominent film-makers, actors and editors and found that in terms of sheer importance and imagination, the scene was considered the holy grail of sci-fi moments. In the movie the ship was operated by the supercomputer Hal 9000, which slowly goes insane, and deceives its crew in a chilling manner. "I think without 2001 there would not have been a Close Encounters or Star Wars. 2001 was the permission slip that Stanley gave all us students to go out and flex our imaginations," the report quoted ace director Steven Spielberg as saying.           London: Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has bought her own private plane after obtaining her pilot's licence. According to The Sun, the 'Tomb Raider' star who is also the goodwill ambassador for the United Nation's High Commission for Refugees has reportedly bought the aircraft to visit struggling Third World countries. The actress who is an ardent worker for the cause of refugees has an adopted son Maddox and also plans to adopt another Russian baby after her visit to Chechen refugee camps.

Hollywood's 'Buddha' draws monks' ire (Go To Top)

          London: Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka are reportedly enraged at the disrespect shown to their religion by the producers and director of the Hollywood movie 'Buddha'. According to the BBC, 500 monks in Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Burma protested, outside the US embassy in Colombo, against a poster of the film which shows the producer, director and star Philippe Caland sitting on the head of a statue of Lord Buddha. The film revolves around a struggling producer who rents a Buddha statue and, empowered by the support of his new-found religion, starts to turn things around. However, prominent Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka have reportedly written to the US ambassador calling for all the scenes that belittle the Buddhist faith, to be removed. Caland responded by saying he regretted offending Buddhists and that he would withdraw the advertisement.

         Sydney: Queensland Premier Peter Beattie is trying to convince Indian movie makers to shoot films in Australia. Beattie, who was on a 10-day trade and investment mission to Japan and India, hosted a function for Bollywood stars, producers and executives in Mumbai, in a bid to woo them to make films in Australia. "Queensland has some of the world's most spectacular locations, which have begun to feature in Indian films and TV commercials over the past four years," Beattie was quoted as saying by the AAP. "With a large number of Indian films shot overseas every year, the growth potential for location filming in Queensland is astronomical," he added.

          London: Veteran singer Robbie Williams turned down a 1 million pounds offer to star in a Broadway musical titled 'The Boy from Oz' because he did not want to play a gay man. Robbie is reportedly fed up of rumours that he is homosexual and felt that playing the lead role of a gay man in the musical would make matters worse. Meanwhile, sources close to Robbie have revealed that he is very keen to get a foothold in the US market but does not want to be typecast as a gay character. According to femalefirst, Eminem is seen running through the streets of Los Angeles naked in the single, which is the first to be released from his fourth album 'Encore'. Eminem is famous for his controversial antics and he had created a furore at this year's MTV Movie Awards by revealing his bare bottom. Aftab Ahmed Daha, a former Pakistan MNA cleared BA examination from the Bahauddin Zakariya University of Multan in order to qualify to contest the next elections. Possessing a Bachelor's degree is now a minimum qualification for contesting elections in Pakistan. Accoding to the Daily Times, Daha said that he had to withdraw from the previous general election because he was not a graduate, and added that he would contest the next election from Khanewal.

Gurinder Chadha's next film to be 'I Dream of Jeanie' (Go To Top)

          London: British Indian director Gurinder Chadha has revealed that her next film is really going to be one to watch out for, as it is going to be bigger and better than any of her previous films. According to Female First, the 'Bend It Like Beckham' director's next film will be a movie version of the 1960's hit TV series 'I Dream of Jeanie,' and Chadha says that she is very excited about the project because she will be using a lot of special effects and action. The movie will be set in Arabia in 200 BC and it will center around a young girl who wants to be a soldier and is a master sword-fighter. But she later gets into trouble and the king turns her into a genie after which she ends up spinning round space and then turns up in 2004. Although Chadha refused to reveal the name of the actress who will star in the lead role, rumors are rife that Keira Knightly and Lindsay Lohan have been approached for the role. 'For me it's fantastic because it's like a big Boy's Own-style adventure only with a girl in the lead. And it's an opportunity for me to work on lots of special effects and action stuff in a way that I was never ever going to be able to do,' the report quoted Chadha as saying.

According to Ananova, Paul LeFevre's 'doggy bag' designed to collect a dog's faeces and urine is more precisely a designer nappy for dogs. "The invention relates generally to animal clothing in general, but more particularly to a garment for dogs that also collects faeces and urine," the Montreal Gazette quoted LeFevre as saying. As per the report, the doggy bags designed for indoor as well as outdoor use, also contain a small pouch designed to carry tits bits like doggy treats. Claiming that his designer nappies were "especially useful when training a new dog or after moving into a new place where the dog is nervous and unfamiliar as to where to relieve itself", he said that he was waiting for the patents in Canada and the US for the doggy bags. "My interest is in selling the idea, not starting up a company to manufacture them," he added.

           London: A recent study conducted by Dr Aimee Aubeeluck, from the University of Derby, has stated that men often experience symptoms traditionally attributed to pre- menstrual syndrome (PMS) in women, sometimes suffering even more than women. The findings presented at the British Psychological Society conference in Edinburgh, states that men were more likely to experience moodiness and other emotional stress generally associated with PMS. "Men are probably less likely to talk about feeling moody and emotional than women are so it's something that is simply never discussed by them," the Daily Mail quoted Dr Aimee as saying. Experts are now of the view that these systems are not gender specific and occur in both men and women as part of the natural bio-rhythmic changes taking place in the human body. "There is some suggestion that natural bio-rhythms cause these changes in both men and women but that over time society has linked them in women to menstruation.

The director, Revathy indicated that she made the film since she was already involved in a lot of social causes, and for a film like this it was enough that more and more people see it in the theatre. The special aspect of the occasion was that the crew of the film, including the actors and director, who had agreed to do the film without remuneration were presented with cheques for their efforts.
