Zeta
Jones flees 'armed' Mexican bandits kidnap bid
London:
Oscar winner Catherine Zeta Jones was left petrified
after she was nearly kidnapped by a gang of heavily armed
Mexican bandits. According to the Sun, the incident took
place while she was returning from the sets of the movie
"Legend Of Zorro," which is currently being filmed in Mexico
and co-stars Antonio Banderas. She was being driven back
in a Limousine when her car was pushed off the road by the
kidnapper's car. Her bodyguards, who were following behind
her car, swung into action just on time as they rammed their
car into the bandit's car, giving Catherine's driver time
to escape. The gang was later caught by the police, on the
outskirts of Mexico city, and the police confirmed that
they were 'armed to the teeth.' Catherine is said to have
been left panic-stricken after the incident but will continue
shooting for the film, which is a sequel to the 1998 blockbuster
'Mask of Zorro,' and will remain in Mexico for the next
four months. "Four people have been arrested. The gang was
armed to the teeth. Catherine has been left really shaken
up by this. She has only been on set for a few days. She
was very emotional afterwards and had to be calmed down,"
the report quoted a source as saying.
