London:
The iconic slogan "FCUK" might have inspired a generation
of teenagers, who splashed it across their tees, but the
clothing chain French Connection has finally decided to
drop it, replacing it with a more subtle three million pound
advertising campaign. According to The Independent, the
logo will be replaced by a series of ironic, self-referential
phrases such as "Don't make us say it", "Something beginning
with F" and "Haven't you had enough influences for one day?",
with no other clues as to which brand they represent. A
one-minute "anti-marketing" advert created by TBWA, the
London advertising agency will feature denim-clad youths
on a road-trip across a desert, with an ironic voiceover
asking, "Where do you think you're going?" and "You weren't
influenced by the advert, were you?". It then ends with
the phrase, "Don't you just hate being influenced by the
great big offensive logo at the end?" before it ends with
a blank black screen. TBWA, the London advertising agency
that created it, is pushing to have it featured on the BBC
as a three-minute short.

made her a better actress, she claims. According to Ananova,
the "Titanic" actress confessed that her becoming a mother
has helped her to essay a similar role in her new movie
"Finding Neverland." The movie, in which she stars with
Johnny Depp, is based on a boy who inspired J M Barrie to
write the children's classic "Peter Pan." Winslett plays
the role of Sylvia Llewelyn Davies, the 12-year old boy's

his mother died. "I don't think I could have played Sylvia
if I wasn't a mother. Being a mother myself was invaluable,"

London: Footballer David Beckham has revealed that the
past few months have made him put his priorities in order.
Whereas earlier he named football as the most important
thing in his life, he now realises that his family is what
comes first. According to The Sun, the Real Madrid star
writes in the new chapters that are to be added to his book
'My Side,' that he is absolutely thrilled that he was going
to become a father again and that he was ready to sacrifice
his career and everything it's brought without a second
thought to have what he has with his family. He also revealed
he is happy with their recent decision to settle down in
Spain as it would bring the family closer. "I had things
in the wrong order. Being with them made me realise there
are things in life more important than football. I hope
I'll never have to, but I'd sacrifice what I do for a living
and everything it's brought without a second thought to
have what I do with them," the report quoted him as saying.
"If anything, we've come through it stronger than ever.
The storm around us has just made us hold each other, and
our boys Brooklyn and Romeo closer. Maybe you don't know
how much you love someone or how completely you trust them
until your bond is put to the test," he added, while explaining
the impact of the recent scandals that have hit the Beckhams.
