It seems that Bollywood style song and dance sequence
is working well with the Brits, as Gurinder Chaddha's 'Bride
and Prejudice' based on Jane Austen's eighteenth century
classic' Pride and Prejudice' has topped the box office
charts in Britain and Ireland this week. According to the
BBC, the movie replaced the Kirsten Dunst's romantic comedy,
Wimbledon which slipped to the third place.
The top seven movies in the UK are: 1. Bride and Prejudice

Kidman to nest on Russel Crowe's 'Eucalyptus' (Go

York: Nicole Kidman and Russel Crowe are all set to
sizzle on the screen together for the first time in romantic
fable 'Eucalyptus'. According to the Daily Variety, Russel
Crowe has already been signed for the movie while Kidman
is in talks with the producers to join the movie. If the
reports are to be believed , Nicole would be cast in the
role of Crowe's sweetheart and it would be for the first
time that the Oscar-winning actors, who have been longtime
friends and alleged to be a close couple, would work together
on screen. Based on the acclaimed novel by Murray Bail,
'Eucalyptus' would be directed by Jocelyn Moorehouse Sounds
and would begin filming next year.

Norman Wisdom intends to retire (Go

After a brilliant career spanning decades, veteran comedian
Sir Norman Wisdom has announced his plans to retire early
next year. According to the BBC, the slapstick comedian
intends to retire after his 90th birthday on 4 February,
and spend more time with his kids and grandchildren. "He
has been thinking about it [retiring] for the past couple
of weeks. His family may have also had an influence, and
he wanted to see more of them," Wisdom's agent and manager,
Johnny Mans was quoted as saying. "He thought that 90 was
a good cut-off point. He wants to play golf, drive around
the Isle of Man, where he lives, and pop across to see his
kids now and again," he added. Sir Norman, who was knighted
in 2000,will perform on a Caribbean cruise-liner and also
take part in a variety show at the Theatre Royal in Norwich
before he finally calls it a day.

Gibson's stalker strikes again (Go

York: Zack Sinclair's passion for Mel Gibson seems to
be never ending as the actor's alleged stalker has been
arrested again after being charged with felony stalking.
Sinclair's was reportedly arrested in Malibu on suspicion
of stalking, in violation of a temporary restraining order
which was recently extended against him on Gibson's request,
and required Sinclair to stay at least 100 yards away from
Gibson and his family for three years. In his complaint,
Gibson has reportedly accused Sinclair of requesting prayer
sessions with the 'Passion of the Christ' director via a
series of "harassing" letters and a personal confrontation
at the actor-director's church, City News Service reported.

Jackson moves out of his Beverly Hills mansion (Go

Pop icon Michael Jackson has reportedly moved out of
his Beverly Hills mansion, where he had started living after
fleeing his Neverland Ranch. Jackson had left Neverland
last year, after police raided it as part of a criminal
investigation into his ongoing child molestation case, and
the Dangerous star had said that he would never go back
to live at Neverland. According to femalefirst, Jackson
had rented the Beverly Hills mansion from Chinese painter
Ting Shao Kuang for around 33,000 pounds a month, with an
option to buy it for 11.1 million pounds. But the property
has now been reportedly sold for nearly 7.2 million pounds.
The sprawling mansion boasts of 12 bedrooms, a library,
a barbershop/beauty salon, a billiard room, a ballroom/theatre,
a wine cellar, an indoor swimming pool and two regulation-size
bowling lanes.
Christopher
Reeves directorial debut to be released next year (Go

Hollywood actor Christopher Reeve who passed away earlier
this week, was about to complete an animation film based
on the New York Yankees, which he had been working on since
the past one and a half years, it has been revealed. The
film called `Yankee Irving' was reportedly very close to
his heart, and he worked on it for hours end, despite being
paralysed from the neck down after a riding accident in
1995. The film centred around a young baseball player in
the depression era who befriends baseball great Babe Ruth
and delivers a game winning hit, reports E Online. The Superman
actor reportedly gave directions from his home office in
New York, with the help of a videoconferencing system, to
the films producer IDT Entertainment. The producers of the
film have revealed that although Reeves death is a blow,
the film will not be shelved as Reeves work was mostly over.
"The story is basically Chris' vision, the bulk of what
he was doing as a director is fairly complete," IDT CFO
Stephen Brown was quoted as saying. He also said that the
film would probably be released later next year.

After stars like Pierce Brosnan and Pamela Anderson,
Hollywood actor Jim Carrey has become the latest actor to
acquire a US citizenship, although he has announced that
he will continue to be a Canadian citizenship, and will
maintain a dual citizenship. The Truman Show actor said
that it had been a long standing dream of his to be a citizen
of the country which has given him the opportunity to be
so successful and he was now excited about being able to
vote in the upcoming elections, reports E Online. Carrey,
however, also said that he did not want to cut his ties
with Canada as he had grown up there and it shaped him into
the person he is today. "I have no intention of giving up
my Canadian heritage, and all those who loved and supported
me. My upbringing in Canada made me the person I am. I will
always be proud to be a Canadian," he said in a statement.
