Are Pitt and Anniston on the verge of splitting? (Go To Top)

         London: Rumours are rife that Hollywood's favourite couple, Bard Pitt and Jennifer Anniston are nearly on the verge of splitting up because of Pitt's closeness to his 'Mr and Mrs Smith' co-star Angelina Jolie. According to the News of the World, the couple, who have been married since the past four years and have been voted the sexiest couple, have not been talking or spending time with each other since quite a few months. They have also reportedly appeared at several public events separately. Brad first met Jolie when they started shooting for `Mr and Mrs Smith' earlier this year and stayed in connecting rooms while shooting for the movie. Pitt's spokesperson had earlier denied the rumours, "Brad and Jennifer have been through rough times before-but never anything like this. All their friends are concerned about whether they can make their marriage work for them again. At the moment it's not looking good," the report quoted an insider as saying.

Potter will live, one of his friends will die, says Rowling (Go To Top)

          New York: J K Rowling, the creator of the phenomenally successful Harry Potter series has revealed that although she will be killing one of the wizards in her next Potter book, 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince,' it will not be Potter himself. The British scribe, who had dismayed millions of fans earlier this week when she said that Potter might die, said that although Potter will survive at least till the seventh and the last book in the series, one of his friends will have to go, reports the New York Daily News. This could be anyone of Harry's young friends, Ron or Hermoine, his half-human friend Hagrid or the master wizard, Hogwart principal Dumbeldore. Fans, can however take heart from the fact that Rowling will also be introducing a new character in the book, which is the sixth in the series. "He will survive to book seven, mainly because I don't want to be strangled by you lot," she said. "But I don't want to say whether he grows any older than that," the report quoted Rowling as saying.

David Hasselhoff may star in the next Harry Porter flick (Go To Top)

        London: If rumours are to be believed that Baywatch star David Hasselhoff may star in the next Harry Porter movie. According to the Mirror, Hasselhoff may be a part of the fourth Harry Porter flick, Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire. The Knight Rider star was seen mingling with the cast at the Leavesden Studios in Watford, according to sources.

Family thrilled about making brooms for Harry Potter (Go To Top)

        London: Of late the Nash family in Hampshire, London have been working extra hard, because they have been chosen as the official broomstick suppliers for the next Harry Potter flick. The Nashs, who have a family business of making broomsticks, were spotted by the film's buyers when they saw their ad on the Internet and were immediately hired to make more than 80 brooms for the 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,' reports BBC. The family, which makes the brooms out of the birch wood, which they collect from a nearby forest, revealed that the art had been passed on to them by their ancestors and that they are now expecting world-wide fame. "It is a bit bewildering at the moment. We are waiting to see what happens after the film is out. However, there are seven grandchildren in the family and they are very excited and proud, telling all their friends in school," a family member was quoted as saying.

         London: Glamour model Jordan reportedly made her boyfriend, singer Peter Andre hide his face with embarrassment, as she displayed his name on her undies. The 26-year old model, who had earlier said that she is going to work towards building a more sober image, picked up her skirt top be photographed with Andre's name on her panties as the couple emerged from London's Embassy Club, reports the Sun.

A book that charts the 'briefs' history (Go To Top)

        London: The times they say are a changing and now anew book has dared to pick up the history of what could be termed as a scandalous topic. According to The Sun, the book titled Sarah Tomczak's Panties: A Brief History describes the change in women's lingerie from Victorian bloomers to thongs with their cheeky sparkling adornments. The book indicates that Victorian bloomers were popular in 1880. These big pants were worn beneath petticoats. 1905 saw crotchless silk knickers edged with lace. While in 1930s pants were sewn up and these shortie knickers were worn with flapper-style knee- length skirts. Cotton briefs were a rage in 1960's while 1980's saw pants becoming high-cut at the sides and back. While today thongs dominate as women go mad for designer labels.

Elton John avoids confrontation with Madonna (Go To Top)

       London: Sir Elton John refrained from going to Donatella Versace's bash hosted in honour of pop queen Madonna, and sent his partner, David Furnish instead, reports the Sun. Elton John who rebuked Madonna for miming during her re-invention tour, at last weeks Q awards avoided an awkward situation by abstaining from the party, in which Madge was the guest of honour. "Elton's just lucky that he had a sacrificial lamb to send to the slaughter. There was an uncomfortable atmosphere and there were lots of intense stares coming from Madonna's table," a source was quoted as saying. However, David looked a bit uneasy and sat far away from Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie.

Sex toys more common amongst women in relationships (Go To Top)

       Washington: A report published by Chicago's Berman Center states that that adult women who are already in a relationship are more likely to use sex toys than others. A random sample of almost 2,600 women aged 18 to 60 were invited to participate in the survey. According to the survey forty-four percent said they currently use a sex toy or had done so in the past. Most current or past sex toy users were in relationships and said they did not view the devices as a substitute for a partner. Women had a "neutral-to-positive" outlook on sex toy use. After controlling for demographic variables, "current sex toy users, whether or not in a steady healthy relationship, were significantly more likely to report a higher level of desire and interest for sex and less pain during and following intercourse," the report was quoted as saying . "However, current and former users who were not in steady healthy relationships were still less satisfied with their overall sexual life than their counterparts," the report added. The main reason cited for current or past sex toy use is curiosity, according to the report.

       New York: Pop diva Jessica Simpson has revealed that she really dislikes her small, flat butt, which she describes as her 'American Girl Bootie' and that she has been exercising very hard to make it bigger and more perky. "I'm trying to get my butt perky, and I'm trying to actually get a butt. I have a white-girl bootie, so I'm doing all my squats to lift it a little bit and get some junk in my trunk," MTV quoted the 23-year old 'Newlyweds' star, who is going to be making her movie debut soon, as saying.

Buckingham Palace installs electrified fence (Go To Top)

        London: Buckingham Palace has recently installed an electrified fence to prevent any security blunders and provide more safety to the royal palace. According to The Sun, engineers spent five hours welding the new fence in place before the current was switched on. The fence will temporarily disable an intruder giving police time to move in and make an arrest, and is one of several security measures being introduced, including more armed officers and police dog patrols. Electric fences could now be put around other royal palaces, including Windsor Castle. "This is part of a radical change in security," the report quoted a police source as saying. "In the wake of 9/11 a 3ft concrete wall was built around Parliament to stop attacks. There needs to be a serious review of perimeter security at the Palace," added Ken Wharfe, ex Scotland Yard Royal Protection Officer.
