more emotional than Republicans, claim neurologists (Go

New
York: Researchers at the University of California and
Los Angeles claim to have found that Democrats and Republicans
actually have different physiological make-ups. According
to them, whereas Democrats get fearful and excited at the
mere thought of an attack, Republicans actually have to
witness the attack to show any emotions. The researchers
observed the amygdala, a region of the brain responsible
for strong emotions such as compassion and fear and found
that Democrat's amygdalas started jumping when they saw
President Bush's television commercials about the 9/11 attack.
But Republicans amygdalas stayed calm till they actually
saw the attack on the WTC, reports the New York Daily News.
"It's certainly not that they don't care, the world is a
dangerous place, terrible things happen, and you have to
be strong, but their lack of response may just reflect their
world- view" the report quoted psychiatrist Joshua Freedman,
as saying. "It's possible they now fear the election, or
feel they may lose the White House," added another Neurologist
Marco Iacoboni.
