his Indian counterpart, Chief Election Commissioner TS Krishnamurthy
in New Delhi. Khan, a former chief justice of Pakistan,

alleged that there was high level rigging during the last
elections at the behest of the military rulers, and the
polls were merely an eyewash.

Dharamsala:
With just two days left for the execution of Tibetan
activist Tenzin Delek in China, Tibetans-in- exile have
launched agitation of various hues to save him. A Chinese
court in 2002 had sentenced Delek and another monk, Lobsang
Dhondup, to death on charges of detonating bombs in the
south-west of the country, for illegally possessing arms
and for promoting Tibetan independence. While Dhondup was
hanged in January 2003, Delek's death sentence was suspended
for two years. He is to be executed on December 2. Born
in November 1950, Delek is considered to be the incarnation
of a former Lama. He is hugely revered and respected by
the Tibetans. The Tibetans-in-exile staying in Dharamsala
said the Chinese government had not given a fair trial to
Delek. Hundreds of them under the aegis of Tibetan Youth
Congress organised a music concert in Dharamsala to voice
their protest against the execution. Hundreds of Tibetan
artists from various Tibetan organisations and schools sang
and played instrumental music for the early release of Delek.
Tenzin Tsendue, an activist, said the concert aimed to bring
all the voices together. "The effort in holding this music
concert is to bring as many voices, as many support together.
Today we have more than 2000 people coming together for
one evening and coming together to raise their voice to
support Tenzin Delek," said Tsendue.
