Colin Powell to be remembered for women's loo reforms (Go To Top)

      New York: Former Secretary of state, Collin Powell's fellow female staffers at the foreign services department have revealed that they will always remember him as the man who made it easier for them to go to the loo, by installing women's loos in their buildings. According to the New York Post, they revealed that earlier all the buildings had only men's loos and Powell's toilet reforms ensured that they were replaced with women's loos instead. "There were men's urinals in the women's rooms all over this building. We didn't want to look at them and wanted them out for a long time. He did it. Those kinds of things matter," the report quoted a staffer as saying.

Bips sizzles 'Khulay Asman Kay Nichay' in Pak (Go To Top)

      Lahore: After Manisha Koirala, it's now Bipasaha Basu's turn to sizzle on the Pakistani silver screen. According to the Daily Times, Bipasha will star in a movie titled "Khulay Asman Kay Nichay" (KAKN) opposite Pakistani stars Sana, Saleem Sheikh and Humayun Saeed. The film is based on a real story, revolving around childhood's engagements, and will be directed by actor-turned-director Javed Sheikh, a steadfast supporter of co-productions between India and Pakistan. It will be shot in both Karachi and Australia. While Bipasha is expected to sign on dotted line in the second week of December, Sheikh is also reportedly on the lookout for a Bollywood hero to play the lead role. Indian playback singers Alka Yagnink, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Sadhna Sargam, Udit Narayan and Sukhwinder have lent their voices to the film's soundtracks.

      New York: Sean Connery, the man who immortalized the role of James Bond, has reportedly revealed that Ewan Mcgregor is the perfect replacement for Pierce Brosnan, as the new 007. "He's very good," the New York Daily News quoted Connery as saying. "He should do it if he wants to do it," he went on. "But it's a bit of a poison chalice. It is slightly more difficult than people realize because it has to look very comfortable and very easy and very cool," the star added.

      London: Aussie singing sensation Kylie Minogue has reportedly revealed that in the early days of her career she used her sexuality to sell records and hog the headlines. According to The Mirror, the singer revealed that she used her sensual image to get to the top, but realized soon enough that she was uncomfortable with it. "I did have a period a while back when I tried to calm down that side of my personality, and that wasn't right," Minogue was quoted as saying. 'That's not who I am. What you see is a very definite part of me. I'm certainly not that person all the time, but it's one part of my character,' the singer added.

      London: It is time for blondes to stop having fun as a new survey conducted by the Hair, Style and Beauty magazine has revealed that dark haired men and women are considered far better partners by most people. The survey found that while 37 percent of the men liked dark haired women, only 26 percent liked blondes. Almost 50 percent of the women questioned said that they preferred to have dark haired men any day, reports This is London. The survey also found that most people thought bald men were the worst partners.

      New York: Nicole Kidman has fuelled the rumours of an alleged romance with the billionaire film producer Steve Bing, after the two were spotted smooching during a dinner in the outdoor section of the Beverly Hills Hotel's Polo Lounge. "Everyone else had candles on their tables, but they blew theirs out. It wasn't some little kiss - it was an open-mouthed lip- lock," a co-diner was quoted by the New York Post, as saying. The paper added that Bing's car has often been spotted outside the Kidman's rented Los Angeles accomodation while she shoots for "Bewitched" and both have been spotted together quite frequently in the last few weeks. However, Kidman's reps have denied any affair between the two and maintain that two are just "good friends who have mutual friends."

      London: After 'Superman' actor Christopher Reeve passed away recently, his wife Dana Reeve has revealed that she will take over the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation and continue to raise money for spinal injury research. According to the BBC, Dana said that she wants to keep his mission alive and will make sure that the foundation continues to raise money. She also revealed that as a tribute to the screen icon, who was paralyzed for nine years before he died, his organization is holding a charity fundraiser this week, which will be hosted by actress Minnie Driver and will also see a performance by singer Paul Simon.

5th Potter flick to be penned by `Peter Pan' writer

      Washington: Don't be surprised if you see a marked difference in the next Potter film as not only is it going be directed by a new director it will also be get a new screenplay writer, after Steve Kloves, who wrote the earlier Potter films has walked away from the project. Michael Goldenberg, the screenwriter for "Contact" and the recent family film "Peter Pan," has now been chosen to pen the screenplay for the fifth Potter flick 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,' which will begin filming late next year, reports Zap2it. Rumors are rife that ace director Mira Nair might bag the film which deals with the boy wizard's adolescence crisis and his first face to face encounter with the wicked Voldermort.
