Britney's on a two-year sabbatical

       London: Pop princess Britney Spears has announced in an open letter to fans that she will be quitting the music world for two years and return with a new image. "I haven't really thought a lot about work lately, what better time for a greatest hits album to come out? I can actually enjoy and reflect on my success at this point in my life," The Sun quoted the singer-cum-actress as saying. "I may be disappointing some fans but I don't think I'll do another tour for a couple of years. My priorities in life have changed. When I come back, things will be totally different," she added.

      Lodnon: It might not be music to Posh's ears, but US hip hop queen Missy Elliott is hunting for her ideal man, and has reportedly set her eyes on David Beckham, who tops of her list of most desirable males. "David Beckham is hot, but I've got a hell of a lot of competition. Maybe, I should find myself one of those sexy British soccer stars," The Mirror quoted Elliott as saying. However, the singer admitted that she would love to be with a person who matched her tomboyish ways. "The person I eventually find will have to like me and my style. I blame my mother for making me a tomboy. When I was younger, she'd dress me up really girly in lacy dresses, so I went wild when I discovered tracksuits," she added.

Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant receive Bafta honours  (Go To Top)

      London: Tom Hanks and Hugh Grant have been honoured with the Stanley Kubrick Award for Excellence in Films, by the UK film body Bafta at the annual Brittania Awards in LA. Amongst others who received the awards were Helen Mirren and Irish director Jim Sheridan, reports BBC online. "He's an extraordinary human being that does these great things, characters on screen, that we think we know," Actress Nia Vardalos was quoted as saying , praising Hanks for the support he gave her in producing her film 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding'.

Geri Halliwell's dog spoils Tony Blair's floor (Go To Top)

       London: Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has admitted that her pet dog once spoiled British PM Tony Blair's floor. Halliwell admitted that her pet dog, Harry, was caught short on a trip to Tony Blair's countryside residence, Chequers and ended up using the premier's carpet. "We were in Mr Blair's study and Harry went into the corner of the room.I was so embarrassed I had to ask for tissues to clear it up," Femalefirst quoted her as saying.

Bridget Jones stars celebrated Kerry's win in advance (Go To Top)

       London: Bridget Jones stars Renne Zellweger and Hugh Grant were so sure about John Kerry's victory that they celebrated his win, even before the electoral results were declared. The Hollywood stars attended an election night bash at London's National Portrait Gallery because they were convinced the Senator would win, and were horrified when they discovered the controversial Republican had been re-elected instead. "There was an air of celebration for most of the night - and it wasn't hard to imagine what they thought they were celebrating. As guests arrived there was a large table festooned with election buttons. Within an hour or so, the Kerry/Edwards buttons had all been seized... there was nothing but row upon row of neglected Bush/Cheney buttons," a source was quoted by pagesix.com, as saying.

     London: There is good news for Star Wars fans, for they can now see a glimpse of the sixth and last movie in the series, seven months before its release. According to Ananova, a thrilling new trailer for the Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith is now being shown on the internet. It links the first trilogy with the second and shows glimpses from previous films with a voiceover from the original 1977 movie by the late Sir Alec Guinness. Viewers see exclusive fight scenes as Guiness explains the transformation of young Anakin Skywalker into evil lord Darth Vadar as Anakin, played by Hayden Chistensen, is seen to a background of molten lava. Droids R2-D2 and C-3PO as well as Han Solo's Wookie companion Chewbacca are also seen.
