Harry Potter will die, says Daniel Radcliffe  (Go To Top)

         London: Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe seems to have turned soothsayer. He has predicted that Harry will die in the final book of the series. According to the Sun, the 14-year old who plays the bespectacled wizard kid believes this would be the best way that author JK Rowling can get rid of his arch rival Lord Voldemort. "I've always had the suspicion that Harry might die. He and Voldemort have the same core. I think the only way Voldemort can die is if Harry dies as well." Daniel was quoted as saying. Voldemort also known as the Dark Lord, murdered Harry's parents James and Lily and has desperately tried kill him too but with no success.

        New York: If you are absolutely crazy about Harry Potter you surely wouldn't want to miss this one. JK Rowling, the author of the Potter series has re-launched her personal Web site, www.jkrowling.com. with all the facts that you need to know. Accoording to the New York Post the new improved site boasts of a fun collection of Harry news and trivia, written by Rowling herself and has already received more than 17 million hits from eager fans. Some of the interesting facts in the site include: -In early drafts of the first book, Harry's pal was called Hermione Puckle - "but it was quickly changed for something a bit less frivolous," Rowling writes. -Rowling doesn't actually have a middle name. She was born Joanne Rowling. But before the first book came out, her publisher suggested she add another initial because "J. Rowling" didn't sound quite right. So the author added "K" in honor of her beloved grandmother, Kathleen. -Rowling was asked to play the ghost of Lily Potter, Harry's murdered mother, in the first "Potter" movie. But she turned it down. "I am not cut out to be an actress, even one who just has to stand there and wave," she writes. "I would have messed it up somehow." -The first book originally included a scene in which we see Harry's parents die and meet Hermione's family. "The Potters were living on a remote island, and Hermione's family lived on the mainland," Rowling writes. "One night, her father spotted . . . an explosion out at sea, and sailed out in a storm to find (the Potters') bodies in the ruins of their house. I can't remember now why I thought that was a good idea." -Uber-villain Lord Voldemort is decidedly not Harry's actual father, despite rumors on various fan Web sites. "No, no, no, no, no," Rowling says. "You lot have been watching definitely too much 'Star Wars.' "

Becks acquires tattoo No.10 'In the face of Adversity' (Go To Top)

          London: David Beckham has showed his determination to bounce back after the Rebecca Loos and Sarah Marbeck scandal rocked his stable marriage. He has now displayed a new tattoo on his right arm, etched in the face of an angel with words, "In the Face of Adversity". According to the Sun, the new tattoo is the English soccer captain's tenth piece of body art. He had recently got a winged tattoo on his neck. Beckahm's latest tattoo was unveiled at the launch of a global advertising campaign for Gillette after. He has reportedly signed a three-year-contract worth undisclosed millions with the shaving giant. The tattoo publicity with Gillette has been timed appropriately for Beckham, whose clean image of a family man has been marred by alleged reports of his juicy extra-marital flings. "His new tattoo drives home the message that he'll fight to protect his marriage and his reputation. Most importantly for him, it shows the Rebecca Loos scandal hasn't tarnished his image in the eyes of advertisers," the report quoted a marketing source as saying. "It is his first big US-based deal. Gillette and their rivals have always used models in the past but Beckham is handsome and rugged enough to set a new trend," he added. However, a top behavioural scientist, Dr Linda Papadopoulous has claimed that Beckham's latest tattoo shows that he is living in the moment. "The popular excuse for not having a tattoo is people are worried how it will look when they are 70. But people who have a lot don't care or think about that. David's showing that he's not a conformist," added Linda.

Cameron Diaz' 20-piece nose (Go To Top)

          Washington: Cameron Diaz definitely has a nose for trouble. She has finally revealed that her surfing accident in Hawaii last year left her nose broken in 20 places. "I totally busted my nose open... blood squirting everywhere. I had a gash across my nose but I kept saying, 'Don't worry, a couple of stitches it's fine, it's good ,'" she was quoted by Teen Hollywood sa saying. "We went to this surgeon, Dr. Flowers, who happened to be there on a Saturday, and he totally looked at my nose and he said, 'You've shattered your nose,'" she said. "I said, 'No, it just takes a couple of stitches, don't touch it. Just stitch it up, don't touch the bump. I've had the bump since I was 11-years old. I don't want it changed. I know you think you want to change it but don't touch my nose,'" she added. "He was like, 'OK sweetheart... your nose has about 20 pieces right now that are just all over the place and, if I don't like fix it with more than a couple of stitches, you're gonna have a nose that's broken in like 20 pieces," she further said.

         Washington: He will soon be up, up and away. For if Hollywood insiders are to be believed Jake Gyllenhaal is all set to be Clark Kent's alter ego. According to Teen Hollywood, Ashton Kutcher and Brendan Fraser were both contenders in the race for bagging the role but Jake finally seems to have grabbed it. He had almost landed the role of Spider-Man opposite his girlfriend Kirsten Dunst in Spiderman but it slipped out of his hand.

Halle Berry moves to silence her 'Navy stalker' (Go To Top)

         New York: Hollywood's lady with the most beautiful smile Halle Berry, is apparently being pursued by a former American Navy Seal. Greg Broussard is a die hard fan of Berry and plans to marry her at any cost and has been threatening her manager Vincent Cirrincione whom he thinks is her father. According to Teen Hollywood he has also sent the actress an array of gifts including an engagement ring. In a written declaration filed in Los Angeles' County Superior Court, Berry gave vent to her fears and said, "Mr Broussard, a stranger to me, has imagined a relationship with me, wherein he and I are engaged to be married, and that my manager and publicist are preventing him from being with me. "I do not know Mr Broussard and do not wish to have any contact with him... The threats he has relayed make me fear for my own safety as well as those who represent me," she added. Broussard is reportedly under investigation by federal and state authorities in Louisiana for assault and making threats.

Woman nips off python's head (Go To Top)

          London: Cynthia Christensen has been arrested on charges of biting off the head of a python belonging to her friend. According to Ananova, Christenen a resident of Spring Hill, Florida was with a group of friends when she asked her friend who owned the snake, if she could hold it. To everyone's consternation she announced that she was going to bite off the python's head and sure enough minutes later the owner found her pet dangling from Christenen's hand without its head.

Brit Navy calls ghost-busters to exorcise French POWs' spirits (Go To Top)

         London: The Royal English Navy is seeking the help of exorcists to rid its biggest base of ghosts of 140 French POWs executed 200 years ago. According to the Sun, a crack team of 20 ghost-busters will spend this weekend combating ghosts in the navy base. The wandering souls have been spotted in the former hangman's cell at Devonport in Plymouth. A young girl and a bearded mariner are also claimed to haunt the nearby master rope-maker's house, adds the report. Mediums, psychics and other paranormal experts, armed with night vision cameras and a battery of hi-tech sensors will inquire into the 'ghostly matter'. "We've had so many reports of paranormal sightings and things going bump in the night. Some of our guards don't like going to these areas at all because of what they've heard or felt," the report quoted the Navy as saying. "We want to try once and for all to try to get an explanation as to why it may be happening. If there are lost souls in these two buildings we hope to be able to put them to rest with seances and exorcisms," the Navy added. Meanwhile, Ian Addicoat of the Paranormal Research Organisation said, "This is unique - a once in a blue moon opportunity."

         London: Elvis Presley might have been alive for 42 years and eight months but his music seems to have become immortal. According to the Sun, the rockstar has spent 47 years and two months on the UK charts as revealed in the top 50 chart-makers list published in British Hit Singles & Albums. While close rival Sir Cliff Richard finished a close second lagging behind by ten years,The Beatles came third, followed by Queen.

David Beckham becomes the Best Man for Gilette (Go To Top)

          Sydney: Shaving giant Gillette has zeroed in on David Beckham to be their man Friday. The England football captain has signed a three-year lucrative contract with Gilette as a part of which he will appear in advertising and promotional campaigns all over the world. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, his image will be used for the global launch of M3Power razor, a new battery-powered razor which was recently launched in the US. The Gillette deal is the first since Beckham signed with 19 Management. Julian Henry, a spokesman for 19, said: "This deal is important for David because Gillette is one of the biggest companies in the world and it gives access to over one billion men globally who use their products daily."

         London: She has beaten popular sex icons such as Kylie Minogue, Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston to bag the coveted title of the sexiest woman of the decade. According to Mirror, Louise Redknapp, the down-to-earth singer won thumbs down in a poll conducted by the FHM magazine where the readers Voted for her. 29-year-old Louise, a native of London is expecting a baby with footballer husband Jamie in August. The Minogue sisters, Cameron Diaz, Pamela Anderson and Jennifer Aniston were others who made it to the top 10.

Italy to have pizza inspectors now  (Go To Top)

         Sydney: Italians seem to have gone on the offensive on their gastronomic pride, the Pizza. An announcement in the Official Gazette of Italy has ordered that a Pizza must be made with a thin crust, fresh plum or cherry tomatoes and mozzarella. Except for Basil, oregano, garlic and olive oil everything else is an insult to Italian cuisine. According to The Australian, the Government took the decision after 20 years of gastronomic disgust about inferior imitations of Italian food. According to Agriculture Minister Gianni Alemanno, international inspectors will be enlisted to expose impostors among the 60,000 "so-called Italian restaurants around the world",. "It's time to draw a line between what is really Italian and the misleading imitations," he said. The government initiative was applauded by Neapolitan pizza chefs, Ciro Moffa and Vittorio Triunfo, who brought "real pizza" from Naples to Rome a decade back. "Pizza is not just a food, it is a way of life. Vittorio and I grew up in the back streets of Naples, and our fathers and grandfathers made pizza before us. A pizza should bring you the soft warmth of Naples - the sounds of the streets, the aromas and textures of herbs, tomatoes and mozzarella, " Moffa said.

Italian village launches world's first love car park (Go To Top)

          London: Vinci Council, an Italian village, has launched what it claims is the world's first car park for lovers. According to Ananova, the village is famous for being the birthplace of legendary painter, Leonardo da Vinci. Vinci council has set aside 172 parking spaces for the convenience of lovers. The parking spaces can be used by lovers at night without having to fear arrest. Meanwhile, Mayor Giancarlo Faenzi has claimed that 90 per cent of local couples have made love at least once in a car.
