Drug counsellor smuggles cocaine in bra (Go To Top)

         London: In a shocking incident, a drug counsellor was arrested while trying to smuggle cocaine to prison inmates in her bra! The 41-year old was reportedly trying to get the cocaine through to some inmates at the Full Sutton jail when prison guards arrested her. According to the Sun, the culprit was strip-searched and was found to be carrying cocaine in two pouches sewn into her bra. The woman was taken to the police station but released on bail later while the police carries out further tests. "A 41-year old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug at the prison. She has been given police bail while tests are carried out and our inquiries are continuing," a spokesman for Humberside Police was quoted by the report, as saying.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star made a pretty picture when she stretched out on a bed at London's posh Claridge's hotel. According to the Sun, Keira showed a glimpse of cleavage in a smouldering shot and also appeared in super sexy poses for the photographs. The lissome Keira had recently complained about her lack of curves and had said that she would love to have a voluptous figure like that of Scarlett Johansson.

         London: The Bond girl is desperate to have a baby. Actress Halle Berry has expressed her keen desire to have a baby and for this she is ready to make love to any date who is ready to father her child. "I don't need to be married to have kids," she was quoted by the Sun, as saying. "If there is no man in two years - when I get near 40 - if there is no serious man, then, whoever I'm dating at the time, I will ask if they want to have a baby," the actress added. Halle insists that her man will not need to make any commitment towards her or the baby. "I'll sign the papers to say they don't need to pay a dime. I'll never marry again. I'm complete by myself," she said.

          London: 'American Idol' judge Simon Cowell has tactfully advised Victoria Beckham to bid adieu to her pop career. Cowell took the former Spice Girl out for lunch in Los Angeles recently and gave his advice to her. "I saw Victoria when she was out here a while ago. I told her I thought she should concentrate on what she is good at and quit the pop. I doubt whether her music career will ever get off the ground again, unless she finds an absolutely brilliant song," The Sun quoted Cowell as saying. Cowell, nevertheless, feels that Victoria's best asset is her eye for style. "Fashion is definitely what she should be concentrating her energies on. I told her my advice would be to launch her own clothing range," said he. Cowell also believes that Victoria has a great on-screen future ahead of her and he is keen to sign her up for a joint TV project. "I know we would work really well together and she comes across very well on television. That's when you get to see the real Victoria Beckham," the report quoted Cowell as saying.

          London: Pop star Beyonce Knowles is the latest addition to the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Central London, and the 52,000 pound dummy of herself has left the sexy singer breathless. The 'Dangerously In Love' singer's wax statute joins those of Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and Madonna. According to the BBC, Beyonce posed for the wax model for three hours in America, and saw the result three weeks ago just before its completion. The 'Wax Beyonce' is attired in a copy of the orange and pink Versace dress that the star wore in the video, 'Crazy in Love'. The replicas form part of a new divas exhibition that invites visitors to have their vocal performances evaluated by the American performer's stand-in. Visitors to the famous museum can now enjoy watching Britney pole dancing, have their vocal talents judged by 'Pop Idol' tycoon Simon Cowell and undergo a glamarous celebrity make over for a magazine photo shoot.

Boyband "Blue" splitting to pursue solo projects (Go To Top)

          London: After an extraordinary three years at the top, in which they had three No 1 albums and three chart-topping singles, boyband "Blue" are taking time out next year to pursue solo projects - and release a greatest hits album this year. According to the Mirror, in the past few weeks, the lads have all been busy planning solo projects, fuelling rumours the band was no more. The band's spokesman confirmed last night, "This definitely does not mean the end of the band. The boys insist they have a long way to go yet." "They are all talented individuals and don't want to limit themselves to the band. Rather than work themselves into the ground, they feel the time is right to go out at the top, and then come back to the band after having a break," he added.

Madonna pays for stealing 'Hollywood' (Go To Top)

          Washington: Pop Star Madonna has reportedly settled a copyright lawsuit against her, that had claimed that she had ripped off the work of late French erotic photographer Guy Bourdin in her latest video "Hollywood" from her American Life Album. According to eonline, she has reached an agreement with Bourdin's son, Samuel, over the content of her video. Though details of the arrangement have not been revealed, Madonna has reportedly not acknowledged any wrongdoing in the incident. Samuel Bourdin had sued Madonna for the exact reproduction of at least 11 photographs of his dad, published in French Vogue, to create her video. "It's one thing to draw inspiration; it's quite another to simply plagiarize the heart and soul of my father's work," Bourdin said. For his part, Bourdin is apparently thrilled with the results of his endeavors. His lawyer, John Koegel, called the settlement "very, very successful," though he failed to comment on the exact amount per the terms of the agreement. Reps for Madonna could not be immediately reached for comment.

Mother pays 1.2 million yen to fake son (Go To Top)

          London: A mother gave away 1.2 million yen to pay for her son's loan when he called on the phone, only to realize later that the call was a hoax, her real son had been sleeping upstairs during the whole fiasco. According to Ananova, a 45-year old Japanese woman received a call from someone who identified himself as her son and asked for money to pay off his loan. She then spoke to someone from the Loan Company who said that her son would be sent to a remote land to do dangerous work if the loan was not payed off. She promptly deposited the money in a designated bank account only to realize her mistake later when her real son woke up and called her on her cell phone to ask her where she was.

          London: Jude Law just could not keep his excitement under the cover when his suit sold for 2,000 pounds at a recent charity auction at the Oxford Playhouse to raise money for Helen House children's hospice. According to Hello, a pair of Johnny Depp's underpants were also on sale and they fetched him 1,600 pounds but Law, British heart- throb was so pleased at having outdone his American contemporary that he jumped onto the stage and offered the shirt he was wearing for sale too. His spontaneous act garnered another 1,000 pounds for their fund.

          Washington: Sex and the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker has a new job on her hands after her HBO series ended this year after six seasons. She is slated to be the new ambassador of Gap in print and TV ads through 2004 as a part of a new marketing campaign, reports E online. She follows in the league of Gap faces such as Madonna and Missy Elliott. "Gap has always been about individual style, and no one represents this philosophy better than Sarah Jessica Parker. She looks as amazing in jeans as she does in couture." Gap prez Gary Muto was quoted as saying. The 39-year-old played sexpert Carrie Bradshaw in the sitcom and sparked several trends including the nameplate necklace, the jumbo-bloom broach and a national Manolo Blahnik obsession.
