The first was parents maintaining close relationships with children. The second was setting strict limits on children's activities and friendships and lastly, try to be informed about their activities and friendships. The first was found to be the most effective of the three, and then the study said that if parents are strict with their children, the impact would only be for the short rather than the long term.
