Back to skimpy undies for Renee

London: The latest addition to Renee Zellweger's wardrobe is a pair of skimpy undies gifted to her by her caring boyfriend Jack White. According to the Sun, the lacy knickers were bound to find favour with Renee, 34, who famously donned a pair of frumpy big pants for her lead role in Bridget Jones's Diary. Jack, 28, a White Stripes rocker clearly thought the Oscar- winning actress needed a treat as he passed an exclusive lingerie store in Toronto, Canada.

Ask Kylie about plastic surgery at your own risk! (Go To Top)

Sydney: Never ask celebrities if they ever had plastic surgery done. They might take offence. Similar was the case when a radio interview with Our Kylie in Britain offended the pop star after Manchester DJ Tony Wrighton asked her if she'd ever had plastic surgery, according to a report in Herald Sun. Bits from the infamous interview were then made into a song, called "So Stupid". The singer reportedly called the interviewer "retarded" and the little chat was never aired. The song was posted on an unofficial Kylie website, but had been taken off over fears of legal action.

Jim Carrey as depressed introvert (Go To Top)

Sydney: Jim Carrey has got a new role to play. The comic entertainer is now set to get under the skin of a depressed introvert for his new flick "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". According to a report in 'The Age', the film's footage revolves around Carrey moping and lying in a trance-like state, a far cry from his previous roles. "Jim's character, on paper, was very quiet and guarded. I thought if I had somebody who had all of this energy to project all the time but they cannot do it, it would make some interesting tension," Michel Gondry, the film's director and French music- video whiz, said.

Meanwhile, the "Dumb and Dumber" star is not about to have anything he does describe as " normal". "Joel's down-to-earth to a certain extent. But you've got to try to understand him on a deeper level because he's not normal. There's no such thing as normal in the first place," Carrey said. Carrey, although veneered by edgy comedy performances, admits that he has had his share of woes, especially in matters of the heart! "Life has taught me to be more patient with people's flaws, if anything. I might have a successful lifetime love at some point, but I will never figure out why. There's always a certain feeling of compromise that comes with it, at least so far for me," Carrey said, in an interview to the 'Daily News'.

Beatles voted greatest stars of last 50 years (Go To Top)

London: Decades after they rocked the world with their musical offering, the Fab Four have been named as the greatest rock and roll stars of the last 50 years. A panel of acclaimed musicians including Bruce Springsteen, U2's the Edge, Chrissie Hynde and Moby loomed large on the 55-strong panel to vote for the 50 most influential musicians, reported the BBC.

The evergreen Beatles were followed in close succession by legendary singer Bob Dylan and 'King of Rock' Elvis Presley in the Rolling Stone magazine poll. Sixty-two-year old Aretha Franklin, the only woman to have made it to the top 10, reigned supreme at the ninth slot. The poll started on 5 July 1954, observed the first half-century of rock and roll.

Other immortal rockers included the Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Little Richard and Ray Charles. Elvis Costello said The Beatles sounded "like nothing else" when he first heard them in 1962. "They had already absorbed Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers and Chuck Berry, but they were also writing their own songs. They made writing your own material expected, rather than exceptional," he wrote.
