Islamabad:
The one-day-international match between arch-rivals
India and Pakistan turned into a competition of Pathans
as the locals were very excited to watch Irfan Pathan, Shahid
Afridi, Younas Khan and Yasir Hameed in action. According
to the Nation, it was perhaps a rare occasion in the history
of cricket in both countries when Pakistani crowd chanted
slogans in favour of an Indian player as the crowd time
and again raised the slogan 'Irfan Pathan Zindabad'. Excited
spectators also supported Afridi by chanting 'Shahid Afridi
ko ball do' to urge Inzamam-ul-Haq using Afridi as a bowler
but their demand was not fulfilled because the Pakistani
captain did not use Afridi for bowling and also failed to
win the battle against Pathan, who ultimately bowled him
for 6. "We will really enjoy the contest of Shahid Afridi
and Irfan Pathan as both Khans would try to beat each other
and it would be interesting in the home of Pathans", said
a beaming Jamal Khan before the match.
