Atkins diet now gets a mouth-freshener! (Go To Top)

New York: The Atkins diet may give one a killer figure, but it also gives a odious breath along with it. A number of treatments have emerged on the Internet to fight the "ketone breath", a sweetish smell most prominent among Atkins beginners, and now a dental spa is offering one too, reports the New York Post. Quickbleach, a cosmetic dental spa on East 56th Street, is offering a 399 dollars package that includes a "halimeter" test to measure foul-smelling VSCs (volatile sulfur compounds) in your mouth and a custom-fitted tray to wear at night, filled with a gel designed to destroy VSCs. "It might work," says Dr. Richard Price, spokesman for the American Dental Association. "Bleaching agents will help fight bad breath because they are an oxygenating agent that will kill bacteria. "But before you do anything," Price says, "My advice is to floss it, brush it, and scrape it (your tongue)."

Prince Harry is not a playboy! (Go To Top)

London: Royal sources have rejected press reports that the Prince has become something of a playboy. Prince Harry, who is currently working on community projects in Africa, will have a second gap year before he begins his military training. "Gap years are not just about work, they are also about having fun. Harry is a typical late teenager who enjoys going out and enjoys going to clubs", an aide was quoted as saying by Hello. Clarence House has confirmed that the young royal will enjoy an extra 12 months of character-forming activities before he enters Sandhurst. The Prince of Wales feels that his son would find it easier to integrate if he waits until he is slightly older, since most first year recruits are university graduates. "There are plans for Harry to extend his gap period into next year. That means that when he enters Sandhurst he will be of a more similar age to the rest of the intake", Charles' new communications secretary Paddy Harveson was quoted as saying by the report. It remains to be seen what the teenager will do during the extra year, but it has been suggested he might spend some time in Argentina.

Kylie Minogue 'sees dead people'!  (Go To Top)

London: Pop sensation Kylie Minogue has claimed that the late rocker Michael Hutchence still communicates with her from beyond the grave. According to a report in the Sun, the 'Body Language' star said that the 'INXS' star returned from the dead to say hello to her. Kylie, 35, has also claimed that she has been reincarnated several times and that she regularly speaks to dead people. The report says that Kylie's story reminds people of the successful 1999 movie 'The Sixth Sense' in which young star Hailey Joel Osment tells Bruce Willis, "I see dead people." Kylie said, "I've had one particularly intense experience that let me know Michael was still around. Like he had come to say, 'Hello'." The sexy singer had dated Hutchence in 1987 but ten years later after falling for tragic TV host Paula Yates, Hutchence was found dead in a Sydney hotel room. Kylie said that she feels a stronger bonding with Hutch now than when he was alive. "Sometimes when people have passed you feel closer to them," added the pop diva. Kylie also expressed her opinion on the after-life, reincarnation, evolution, death, heaven and God. She said, "I believe I have lived before, but I'm not very advanced in my series of lives. I'm not even into double figures. I don't have a visual memory of my past lives, but I believe I came from somewhere." Kylie has had a string of high-profile boyfriends. She dated 'Neighbours' co-star Jason Donovan, photographer Stephane Sednaoui and models Zane O'Donnell and James Gooding. However, the pop princess has finally found love again with French actor Olivier Martinez for whom she wrote a mushy love song and visited Melbourne to meet his parents.
